Khorium Deposits?Follow

I'm a little concerned about the lack of Khorium Ore that seems to exist at the moment in WoW. I managed to skill Mining up to 375 in about two days after the release of the expansion, and I have yet to actually find a Khorium Deposit.

Now, I saw one in Hellfire Peninsula on the very first day (didn't have Mining 375 at the time so I couldn't get it) and it has not appeared in that same spot again - and I check it many times a day.

Not only that, but I spent 5 hours today just running around Outland just looking for mining nodes - Hellfire, Nagrand, Shadowmoon...you name it, I was there. You can find Fel Iron and Adamantite deposits everywhere (even the occasional Rich Adamantite), but I have yet to find a Khorium Deposit. Even in the middle of the lava pools in the middle of Shadowmoon, surrounded by level 70 elites and near instant death lava and fall damage...all you will find is Fel Iron. Fel Iron as far as you can see.

Am I missing something? Is Khorium really that rare? Like a 0.00001% chance to pop instead of a Fel Iron Deposit? No ore or bars have ever gone up on the auction house on my server either, and its the only ingredient I need to make a lot of my Engineering 375 devices, and its getting tiresome to not have ANY. Or SEE ANY.

Anyone else experiencing this? Know where to go to get some? Anything?

Maybe that will help... click on "View Map" to see spots where they spawn.

Just from my wanderings, there were a ton of deposits near the road leading down to the Void Field (I think that's what it's called). Southwest of HH near the edge of the map. There were about a dozen in easy sight from the road.

During the first days of TBC there were tons of khorium veins in Hellfire, as i figured there is a small chans for khorium to spawn in all the vein spots and what happeded in the first days is that ppl were only able to mine veins that require lower skill lvls. When any vein but khorium spawned it was mined very soon, but if a khorium vein spawned it was the end of the road and i was never mined. With some time there will only be khorium veins left.

As i figgured there is no certen spots for khorium to spawn there is only vein spawn points. But there is a different % telling what kind that will spawn so as far as mining khorium its about beeing in the right spot at the right time. As for me i found 1 khorium vein in Nagrand. Im at 338 smithing and i have only used the mats ive mined so, ive mined alot of veins and only 1 khorium.

So my wish to Blizzard is also, higher spawnrates for khorium.

in the last 2 days (enough time to reach 61 and change) Ive personally seen 4 khorium and heard in general chat about 2 more in the hellfire area. And Im madly trying to skill up mining so I can snag that precious stuff when I see it. It always pains me to pass up something like that :(

I've been seeing a few on my server too. I'm grinind like mad to get my mining maxed out and hit 371 last night. Should have hit maxed tonight so I can start working on those veins.

I've seen but 4 khorium veins, but have had the pleasure of mining 2 of those.

The first that I saw was the very first day TBC was out. Of course, nobody could mine it, and I never went back to check on it.

I saw one in Blade's Edge when my mining was... 374. Yeah. Someone was mining it anyway.

I've found one in Netherstorm, of which I gleaned 2 Khorium, and just today I found one in Shadowmoon, of which I got 3 ore.

I am happy to announce that the spawn rate of Khorium seems to be working fine now. Its still fairly rare, but at least you will actually see it from time to time now as opposed to never.

Also, Khorium has a chance to spawn from any Fel Iron / Adamantite deposit, and some Khorium spawns are just Khorium only, so make sure to mine whatever you come across (you would be crazy not to anyway, Fel Iron and Adamantite show no signs of lack of usefulness or monetary value decline anytime soon).

My level 59 gnome with 330 mining found 2 khorium veins not far from the Dark Portal, when looking for iron. All I could do was hug them. I spent the next 2 hours riding in circles around the portal and mining like crazy. When I finally hit 370 I went back and one of the veins was still there! I put on my +5 mining gloves and had at it! It really made my day.
