Okay i have 340 JewelCrafting i know you have to level on your own with designs but how do i get Adamantite Powder? Get 20 ore have them prospected? who Prospects the Ore? Jewelcrafters? Blacksmiths? Alchemists? Do i need that mercurial stone if Jewelcrafters make them? where do i learn this? is it a quest?

Not sure how you got to 340 Jewelcrafting without realizing that jewelcrafters prospect... it's how you get your gems.
You'll need a minimum of 5 ores to prospect them. From that you will always get dust of the type of ore you are prospecting and often you will get a gem or two in the process. Sometimes you end up with nothing but dust... but you always at least get the dust.

If you prospect Admantite, you will get admantite powder as a left-over. It will appear white.

what level do i learn how to prospect? probly a noob question but i no idea thanks for the speedy responses. Just got the Mericual Gem but i dont see it in my jewelcrafting window. Thanks for the help again

You should have learned to prospect at around skill level 20 or 30.

As well, be sure to check your spellbook. It's not something that will show up in your Jewelcrafting, it shows up as a separate skill.
