my skinning is lvl 105 and i have been killing lvl 11-17 mobs with my lvl 12 hunter and i have yet to skin a light hide. what lvl in skinning do you have to be and is there certain mobs that are esier to get these off of?
You might try searching "light hide" in the box to the left - it will tell you what mobs drop light hide and about what the percentage drop rate is.
One caveat - I don't believe any of these numbers are corrected for the actual numbers of people that are skinning as opposed to just looting - I wouldn't be surprised if a drop rate of 1-2% actually meant 5-10% among total animals skinned. For example, Great Goretusks in Westfall show a drop rate of 1.33 for light hide, but only 19.21 for light leather and 5.31 for medium leather. Since they always drop something when they're skinned, I would guess that skinning 26 of them should give you about 20 light leather, 5 medium, and 1 light hide.
