Nerf to crusader, icy, and lifestealFollow

I've been an avid fan of crusader and lifesteal since day 1 and their nerf beyond level 60 has me nervous (icy is included too). I found a site where someone said that the nerf is that each of these enchants will suffer a 4% penalty per level above 60. So, a 20% penalty by level 65 and a 40% penalty by level 70. The proc rate, however, is uneffected.

For those of you that have made it to 61, 62, or beyond, can you confirm this?

I use lifesteals on my rogue and crusader on my shaman, and I'm wondering what the new "must haves" might be. I read that there is a Mongoose enchant that'll be nice for rogues, but what might replace crusader? A flat +str or +ap boost?

How on earth can someone call something that wasn't available before, a "nerf"? You didn't have the ability to go beyond L60 before the XPAC. What happens after 60 is new, so it couldn't possibly be a nerf. To me, a nerf is a negative change to EXISTING abilities, not NEW ones. Everything that is post-60 is NEW.

Go back to the o-boards. They appreciate whiners there.

Well Mike, why don't you follow your own advice and take your flaming somewhere else? The question about enchants nerf is quite a legitimate and I am very interested in reading more about it.

If you think that's a flame, you haven't been the places I have. I reiterate - it's not a nerf. Post-60 is something that hasn't been around before, so it can't be a "reduction in ability", since we didn't have that ability to begin with. Enchantments are a money sink and designed to be money sinks. When you finally trade in the crusader for something better (for much gold), you won't even remember "nerf".

Enchantments
The Crusader Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders above level 60.
The Icy Chill Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders above level 60.
The Lifestealing Enchantment now decreases in potency for wielders above level 60.

That's straight from the patch notes. Looks like a reduction to me. So yea, its a nerf. Just because players couldn't level past 60 doesn't mean the enchantment didn't work normally past 60 until "World of Warcraft Client Patch 2.0.3 (01/09/2007)". That is when they changed it. That is when they nerfed it. Feel free to rationalize it however you like for yourself though. Thx~

As for the actual "reduction", I am not sure what is effected. Does it reduce the duration of the buff? Drain less HPs? BTW Icy sucks as it is, unless they did something to up the proc rate.

I think it's just to be expected. Blizzard has taken steps to ensure that gear/items/enchants we have used pre-BC scale as you level to 70. It's the same reasoning behind "nerfing" downranked heals and the T2 3/8 bonus for some classes.

Result? As you level to 70, get the new enchants on your new weapons and gear, and you'll be set.
