I have read several threads that refer to a materials guide for Jewelcrafting, but no links:(

Anyone care to provide a source? Thanks in advance.

How I understand it is that you want links for the items for jewelcrafting?

If so, the search bar is very helpful.

They want a guide on the materials needed. I can only assume they want a levelling guide...

This guide uses recipes that are yellow skill, but it doesnt use recipes which go green. I also assumed that once a skill hits yellow, it will give you a skill point for every 2 you make (also calculated the mats according to that). I attempted to make it as cheap as possible but the last points will very likely be expensive no matter what. My advice would be to get some thorium ore and save it for prospecting (thinking of about ~200 or so, not too hard to get)

Possibly cheaper way of getting the last levels could possibly be just crafting a huge amount of Ruby pendants of fire. This way you could simply skip all the expensive gems, but of course you would need something like 200 star rubys.

Again, check the O-Boards if you don't see something you want here.

The guide strikes me as slightly dopey, since it doesn't make use of all the Bronze Settings and Mithril Filigree you make in the low-midlevels. You can save some mats by grinding recipies that use those components rather than ones that use up more bars.

seems to me to be a pritty ****** guide and basied on haveeing 10000000 gold to spend on it.

if your just buying your way up look at the AH befor you do it. i bought 60 copper bars on stormscale for 2g and got all the way to 52

managed to hit 290 at 03:30 gametime this morning on Darkspear, thought i had all the mats i needed, even if i got unlucky with skill points from yellow items, but alas, i was really unlucky sometimes so ended up 10 skill points short! still, shouldn't take too much effort to hit 300 i hope :)

any other Darkspear players just send Daavee a /w and i'll happily craft anything you like.

Exodar for 0 to 300. Honor Hold and Shattrath City for 301 to 375.

I levelled to 300, making max use of stone statues and the 'basic' component at each level (setting, filigree etc). Once those were exhausted I just made use of whatever was orange/yellow and that I had enough mats for. Up to level 30 I vendored the items I made, after that disenchated them. I ended up with 21 Large Radiant Shard, over 20 Greater Eternal Essence, 5 Small Brilliant Shard, several stacks of Dream Dust etc.

I did 32 prospects on Thorium Ore to increase the number of high end Azerothian gems I had to help finish the last few points (in the end I still had to purchase 5 Huge Emeralds on the AH at a reasonable price). The results from this included 3 Outlands gems which got me to 303 skill. Also, every time I've run Ramparts instance there's been 2 chests and pretty much every chest has contained 1 gem. I've cut a few of those for people so am now at 305 skill.

Check entry 2 in the journal. Might help you some. Fairly gem-independent, as best I was able to mine for my own supplies.
