I have only read and seen here and there about armorsmith recipies from factions that you need to gain rep in. I have not been able to find what all these factions are and HOW you gain reputation with them. If someone could help me out with this would be greatly appriecated thank you
Argent Dawn have some blacksmithing plans - found in Eastern Plaguelands and Western Plaguelands
Zandalar Tribe has some too - found in STV on Yojamba Isle or something
Thorium Brotherhood have many - once you have rep you have to go to BRD and go to the tavern, there will be a vendor there
As for how much rep and which plans check WoWWiki... they go through those 3 factions in a lot of detail.

There are also some from the Cenarion Circle at Silithus hold
Oh and also high level instances and raids drop the "XXX Half of Armoursmithing: Volume Y"
There are 3 Armoursmithing Books you can get (Volume:1,2 & 3) and you need the top and bottom half of those books dropped in various different instances. These plans make the expensive "Enchant Thorium" Plate armour.
Once you made a book from combining both top and bottom halves of the same volume you can start the quest given from the book and hand it in, in Dire Maul North in the library.

Lol - yes, and a couple of other questing items - one starts from a breastplate hanging on a wall in LBRS, one from a gauntlet next to the lave in LBRS

www.wowwiki.com has guide for gaining rep with all the factions, and they list the blacksmith rewards for each level of reputation.
