Quickest Way to Increase BlacksmithingFollow

#1 Dec 09 2006 at 3:48 AM Rating: Decent
Hey all, I have a very simple question. What is the quickest way to increase your blacksmithing skills? I've tried buying up ore and making stuff but that's expensive. I've also tried going out and mining the stuff, but that takes FOREVER. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Those are pretty much the only two ways you can do it though you can try a combination of the two as well.

Just think though, if you go out and mine stuff, you can also kill creatures and collect stuff to sell. If you mine in areas with creatures that are worth experience then you can level up as well.

you also can surf the web for 1-300 bs guides, there are some pretty good guides ...BUT... they only tell you what you need to make at certain tradelvl and what mats you need overall, how you get the mats is your business.

like Morghast said, grind and buy! that way you play the game as it was meant to be and you farm some gold (and XP) along the way.

The most cost effective skill is gained by making grinding/sharpening stones. The mats are a lot cheaper than metal items. As soon as you can make a new stone based item, make it until it turns green, and maybe even a while in the green range.

I think you should stick w/the mining dude. All my bags are 6 slots...and when I come back from whatever quests I've just finished...I'm usually packed w/ore. I've made over 100 copper bars in one sitting before...along w/tons of sharpening stones. You can then take all those bars and turn them into weapons/armor that helps boost your blacksmithing. You also get the added bonus of increasing your mining skill (I'm around 100 now)...and you can pick up some other stuff like Tigerseye, Malachite, etc...and addition to killing anything around the veins you're mining. This method has kept me wealthy enough so far to afford any weapons/armor I want for my lvl 22 warrior.
