I was told there is a trinket that can be created by a blacksmith that grants 30 second Immunity to fear effects. Requires blacksmithy skill to be able to equip to self, can anyone confirm this information & location of the plans?

Yes, this is true. This is actually the second trinket. The first gets you an Awesome Hammer with 36.9 dps. This particular trinket is the Mithril Order Emblem, when you get annoucned into the Mithril Order. It provides +50 armor, +10 to all resistances and 30 secs immunity to fear.
