Origins of Smithing Quest - That's It?Follow

I'm at step three of the "Origins of Smithing" series. I just got offered the three quests from Galvan the Ancient to bring him about 60g worth of materials in exchange for three plans. Is that it? Am I missing something? I just finished the Weaponsmith quest and handed out a load of free materials only to get offered the opportuntiy to train on weapons I already carry. I bet I had to knock off 300 Enraged Rumblers or whatever they're called to get the four "Core of Earth" required to make the first "Shatterer" which sold for a whopping 13.5g. Do I really want to spend that kind of time mining to get plans for armor that is readily available in the AH for a fraction of the material costs of making it or am I going to need these plans to continue leveling? It looks like the Weaponsmith items will carry me past 250.

I guess the real question is... Do I want to continue down this path to advance as a Blacksmith? It sure doesn't look like the path to riches as the quest text hints.

Blacksmithing in general is a money sink. The tradeskill system is too easy, and therefore everyone's skilling up, rather than letting just the people interested in the profession sell at a reasonable price. So, IMHO, no - this isn't going to be a profitable venture anytime soon =)

That wasn't it for me, after all the turn-ins you can talk to him again and he will make you a trinket. Signet of Expertise This can be used to summon the Hammer of Expertise. This hammer lasts for 1 hour and the trinket has a 3 hour cooldown.

Keep in mind that I am on the armorsmith path, but I am fairly certain that it makes no difference to get this item.
