How does enchanting work?Follow

Hey guys! I just created an alt yesterday with the express purpose of enchanting. I figure that as my main gets huge numbers of green items (I do mostly instances), I can send the unsellables to my enchanter and have him do as he will.

The one thing is, how does enchanting work? Do you have to disenchant? There's really no clear cut explanations of what I'm supposed to do with it. Since I can't play til I get back from work, I was wondering if someone could explain it a little better.

One other thing, I'm planning on going enchanting/tailoring, since I can make green items to disenchant. Does that sound smart?

Thanks guys!

You may need multiple players to feed one Enchanter with uncommons so speak to your guild about 'useless' uncommons going to him. The components are consumed very quickly...

Disenchanting is necessary unless you are willing to buy components on the Auction House or from vendors (there's a few components on sale occassionally). I don't recall ever getting components as drops, from quests or from chests and without components your Enchanter can't do anything.

Tailoring/enchanting is a good match assuming your main can feed the tailor with the needed cloth.
