Hey, I was thinking about getting this game soon and I was wondering if this would be a good tradeskill combination. My friend is going to be a miner/skinner and he said he would give me supplies...Can you give me some advice, thanks!

As long as you can get the materials easily, there's really no problem with it. Just be sure your friend can keep you well-supplied, or you may find yourself falling behind in your trades.

ive actually ran into characters who have suppliers for their materials and they do great from what i see. it is just a matter of getting your materials. if you don't, your screwed...

i really find doing maker/maker really stupid, i mean tradeskills were meant to be used together, im a skinning leatherworker, and i love it lvl 300/300, make lots of money, and skin other peoples kills, always are going to have problems dividing up the money etc, skin/leather or min/engineer is my thoughts

Pairing up your gather and production is best if you plan to make a single character, as you're less dependent on others. I made a tailor/skinner for one, as the higher level tailoring sometimes needs leather, so the next guy I made was engineer/leatherworker (I also had a miner/smith at higher level). So the 2 higher levels would still harvest low level stuff and mail to this guy, who would start each day by crafting away the mail, then level up some. Some prefer to focus on 1 character to 60, I prefer the variety of several, but it means I level a little slower too.
