Question about EnchantingFollow

#1 Mar 21 2005 at 10:35 AM Rating: Decent
I am currently lvl 50 enchanting. Can anyone give me advice on the common rate charged for minor enchanting such as bracers and chest? Since enchanting cannot be sold at the AH like potions and leatherwork, this aspect of enchanting seems more confusing =/
Thanks!

LoL,
Hold on a sec let me wipe the tears from my eyes, No I am not Flameing you, it is just I reember you situation. Bottom Line, Zero, you will not be able to charge for enchanting at that level, heck you will be lucky if you can pay someone to take a enchant at that level, I have spent over 2 hrs trying to give them away for free, No luck. Some fine points on enchanting, firstly it is kinf of compclated and at the low levels pepole think you are trying to steel their stuff when you ask them to put their +1 sta bracers in the "Will not be traded window".... or something I am not sure. but unelss you have some freinds willing to take those enchants for free you might just end up enchaning your bracers and chest over and over and over. Folks dont start paying for enchant Untill you can make their weapond glow(beastslay or some of the other impact enchants). So till then you have the biggest moneysink of a profession, stick with it, in the end folks will buy you enchants... just not a till they are worthwhile. Personaly Enchanting is a tradeskill that is best served by being in a Guild(that way you have a steady stream of greens to disenchant as well as folks to take you enchants so you can level it to a point where folks will pay.
Hope it helps and Happy Enchanting

There goes hope. I kind of figured that was the case. Thanks for the input. Looks like ill continue enchanting my bracers over and over. What level do you have to reach to make the pretty red glow?

I think it's about 90. I forget the exact number. It's a drop recipe though, minor beastslay can't be learned from the trainers. Some of the other glows can, though, around level 100 or so.

Just want to confirm that you can't even give them away - it's a shame, when I can offer +25 AC which would be esp good for cloth or even leather guys - .....maybe if we could get the clothes to glow people would want them. Oh well.

I have found that enchanting the same piece of armor over and over again works well. I also have been working on it within my guild. But the glow def. seems like the best way to make some money with enchanting. Blizzard should definitely consider glowing clothes!

As long as Enchanting requires characters to meet up and fumble about with the trade interface without having an easy way of showing the selection of enchantments available, negotiate prices and actually show the effects in the trade window it will remain confusing and a very hard sell as people fear being ripped off.

The solution is quite easy - allow Enchanters to create an item which carries the enchantment, can be sold on the AH and then applied on the target item by the buyer. An enchanter would still be able to do direct enchantments when they want to but should have a progression of for example 'Runepaper' which could be bought from a supplier (just like vials for potions) and used to create the items. Normal market forces would then apply at the AH, people could buy and sell there at their convenience without the fear of a rip-off.

Putting Enchant on AH Papers seems like a good idea but consider the effects. Less demand since more enchants are available so the price plummets. Reagents will still be hard to come by. In effect it will hurt the profession rather than help. If people weren't so lazy... Just go to IF or somewhere else jump in the trade channel and Announce with a macro if you don't like typing. You would be amazed at the response you ge. People even ask you for other enchants different from what you announced once the know that you are an enchanter.

SIDE NOTE: Do not enchant until skill is at 70. When you disenchant you will get a skill up point up until 70. In effect you don't waste reagents.

Ok Firsrt... did you try looking at the List of Trainers, it is on the left hand side, on this page, that said , She is a PITA to get to . Inside Uldamn! Ya Sucks. so the deal is. you wont be going yourself. The min level is 35 the cost is 5 gold, but realisticly, have more than that, unless you want to come back and go thought the mess again when you want to lern your next enchant. my best recomendatino is find a party of folks that are going to Uldman to Train, Join them, if no such party is avaiable, get your guild to raid it, you can take 10 folks in their, you are not their to quest so you dont have to worry about the raid messing up your quests.

Also, if you are getting together a group just to get the enchanting training it would be in your best interest to go in the back entrance to Uldaman. The distance to the trainer is shorter and the only obstacle that REALLY requires a group will be the horde of scorpids between the back entrance and the trainer. There are very good directions on here, just root around for info and you will find the trainer.

btw- The back entrance is in the Badlands in cave in the mountainous area in the east labeled Dustwind Gulch.
