If I train in weaponsmithing, will I still be able to learn new blacksmithing recipes. I.E. I'm at 210 blacksmithing and there's a heavy mithril breastplate at 230, if I took weaponsmithing now would I be able to learn this recipe.

thanks for any help you can offer

from the way i understand it, you would be able to-certain things require Armorsmithing, and certain recipies require Weaponsmithing. A Blacksmithing only recipie should still be learnable, as it's blacksmithing.

If you're like me, your level of 210 now is probably because you don't make the stuff you already have plans for because you can't make any money at it. Ready for the bad news? You have to get to level 230 to buy the plans for the "Big Black Mace" which is part of the Weaponsmith quest. Ever notice that the AH (At least on my server) is always full of "Steel Plate Helms"? I found that the most cost effective way to get the last 5 skill points to get to 230.

On a side note, Don't buy a "Shatterer" mace right before going Weaponsmith. I did. It's the lowest (235 I think) level item you get to make once you complete the quest.

Edit: I got off the point. You'll probaly need some of those plans before Weaponsmith to keep your skill level progressing to get to 230. They go from orange to gray mighty quickly at that skill level.

You can still make armour and weapons that requires blacksmithing skill only. However, you won't be able to make armour that requires the Armoursmith skill.
