Engineering What To Make From Apprentice To Journeyman?Follow

Hello All,
I am new to the engineering skill and I was wondering if those of you who have made it up to cap on Journeyman could share with me what you made at those lower levels. I am looking for these most cost prohibitive and take the least amount of resources to make at that given point. I don’t know if it matters or not but I am playing a Gnome.

Thanks in advance for the help and the replies I appreciate it,

Jeremiah

Its all subjective, depending on your class and playstyle. I didnt figure out what i wanted to de till about level 20 and by then had a massie stockpile of metal. went from 0 to 150 in an hour.
Anyway, the basic logic behind powerskilling is to pick the recipe that : (in no particular order)
a. yields prefeably stackable goods.
b. requires the least amount of materials
c. the materials it does require are inexpesive / easily aquireable.
d. the item is of use.
e. you have fun doing it.
f. is orange or at least yellow (orange always gains skill, yellow quite often, green sometimes, grey never, red you cant do yet)

obviously a b c and f are the ones to highlight for pure skill purposes..

for engineering the best skill up recipes are usually the gun powder lines, the tube lines, the bullet lines, and the grenade lines. I used those mainly with a couple others to stretch me over in places. Hit up the recipe list over there <--- and figure out where ya need to be.

I've always told people not to waste their time making items like tubes and stuff. If you're not going to use it to make anything, why bother? That was one of my largest mistakes. I made 30 or so Whirring Bronze Gizmos, and I didn't even use but 10 of them.

Just make whatever feels right for you, and try to make at least the yellow and orange items, as they almost always give a skill up.

Personally I like the grenades b/c they stun the opponent, but if you like more damage over the stun for a few seconds, go with the dynamite.

It gets fairly expensive once you get further in (I'm at 225) so be careful. Renewing your membership card, once you hit 205 that is and choose a path, costs 2g each time, but you get a cool free schematic.

Aye if you make mass amounts of parts youll not come close to using all of them.. the point was for skill ups, some of the parts have the best ratio of materials vs cost. Tis only for power skilling though or is you need a bridge between schematics.. If your skilling up as you level and only as you harvest your own materials then its a moot point. as my post states ;)
