It's hard to give any advice without knowing your level. Personally I'd say take any area with humanoids at your level (so you still get xp from the kills) or much lower level (to make them easy kills.)

When I was trying to catch my first aid up in a hurry, I was lucky to have quests requiring killing humanoids.

The cloth drops are mob level based. Wool starts droping off humanoid mobs in the late teens and peters off in the early 30s. So find yourself some where you can kill mobs in this range and have fun doing so. :o) I think when I was building my wool stock that I slaughtered troggs at the excavation site in Loch.

Wouldn't know for horde havent played them yet.

If you are high leveled enough for soloing Deadmines, I would suggest you go there. Its lots of fun. I have gotten around 3 or more stacks each run, plus the good loot there.

Another option is to take a skinner out and kill sheep, when you skin them you get wool from what I hear. I haven't tested this, so someone who has could verify it. Otherwise, humanoids between lvl 10-30 should give you regular drops as mentioned.

sheep would be too slow, better to go after humanoids. deadmines suggestion sounds great, though if you really want to focus just on linen, just kill the humanoids outside of instances. if you want extra loot that may be green more often, inside instances.
