I'm currently miner/engineer, expert in both am thinking of switching to herbalism/alchemy. Any advantages/disadvantages I should consider? Like money making/helping my guild/helping my character. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

if ya dont use your current trade skill go ahead, but if you are in a guild the "green lense" is cool, you enchanter will love the large shards it creates. Honestly though, if you are asking for somone to tell you to swich then it would appear that you are not happy with you choice of professoins. So swich find something you enjoy and i wouldnt worry as much about "what it dose" as thats just gravy.
