I wonder if someone can help me with this question....
Take a LvL 40 sword with a damage from 100 to 150.
Now when I look for high LvL enchantment recipe, Enchant weapon superior striking, it gies only +5 damage....
Now way would any one want to pay a lot of money to get ONLY 5 point of more damage? it is only 5% extra damage on that sword ..... and not even that... And that is an enchantment that you need 300 in the enchantment skill...
Could someone help me explaning to me if there is more powerfull enchantments out there?

Well 5% may not seem huge, it makes a diffrence, a big one.
a lot of it is in terms of how you do your dammage. Take for example if you were a rouge and you used a set of daggers with a super fast Attack Speed then +5 dammage could be more than 5% and you are dealing that extra dammage each stab.
if you are not a rouge or have a slower weapon then it is not as usefull... note i say AS usefull...still better than the soward that only dose 100-150, i will take one that dose 105-155.
Their are other enchants, like ones that add Agil or Resits or absorbe, the list goes on. I assume that you are relevitly new to the game, Every thing in this game is about nickeling and dimeing stuff. You wont get 300 added to you agility form one item and you wont get a extra +50 dammage form a enchant. You may have a total of 80 added to your agil... but not form a single item, that said their are multipule ways to raise you dammage and you cant count on one enchant to do all the work.
The biggest underlying point is it is better than nothing..and i will take any help i can get if that is 5 dammage for a striking enchant or 4 agil on a glove, it is more than i had without the enchant... pricey yea...but 5 g dosent sound like much to me... i have used my soward over 800 swings and that equals 4000 points of dammage, in the long run... thats worth 5 G especialy when ya think... i am going to keep using the blade. When ya hit level 60 and have Verry nice equptment and their is none better enchanting is a way to get more out of what you already got.
Hope that helps

I agree and disagree. Nickle and diming is a good point but 5% is still %5 percet and that doesn't go up or down depending on how fast/slow the attack speed is.

Actually 5% was calculated by OP the enchant is +5 damage, not +5 dps so yea actually speed is relevant, very relevant
I have GREPED and calculated this using webtrends reporting software (roommate works for them so I can use a 25,000$ package to graph my combat log) This also applies to scopes on guns... a gun with a faster speed gets more advantage as the scope adds per shot and not bases on shot speed, if someone has hard data to disprove me please bring it up to me... but the numbers in the combat log don’t lie.
If you would like to try it yourself set your combat log location to a known directory, go kill about 20 to 30 mobs, now go though the log and take note of how many times you hit and how much damage you did on each shot... then enchant your weapon... re run the experment you will see a average increase per shot of the ammount of the enchant I.E.+1,+3,+5. Keep in mind you have to kill Mobs of the same level as the first time and make sure you didn’t level. I used a sampling of 90 MOBS each with and without enchant... low and behold I saw a difference of 5 damage per swing?

I dont think enough peeps know about enchantments - I have tried to give them away jsut to lvl - no interest most of time. This is esp. problem with chest pieces where people often have a kit on it allready. The should have made the two items complementary instead of competing.

Sheesh I couldn’t agree with you more, I gave up on my enchanter...I spent over 5 hrs trying to give them away...after I found someone willing to take it for free(this seems nuts I would have to work so hard to give it away)they think you are trying to steal form them when you tell them to put the item in the Will not be traded box, usually this person just gets frustrated and walks away. I quit, just enchanted my own stuff over and over again my chest armor has had over 45 enchants as well as my bracers have had like 15. It would be nice to have some way to get folks to take it for free... like a swap meat place... like the AH...but you wheel and deal with folks (I know it is their called Iron Forge) that way enchanters could sell their wares. Really though, I think folks need to play a enchanter to really get it. I sure didn’t understand until I tried.

I feel the same way! I'm always bargaining with people of whispers and trade channel. It makes me feel like a used car salesman. I agree that there needs to be another way to sell enchants ex: auction house. It would be fine if I was actually making money on it, however it always seems that I am losing money. People don't relize that enchanters dont pull-in as much money from loot runs and farming that others do this is because we need to disenchant all the green+ items. Therefore, we cant sell these items on AH or vendor, and on top of that people wont even take these enchants for free that I could have just sold the item on the AH for a 1G. This, to me makes no sence, but im too far in enchanting to start another proffesion. In the end I believe as an enchanter community we need to get the word out about enchanting and have a pricing guide accesible to the public so that we dont have to bargain into losing money. This not about the alliance/horde agitationg this is about us, the enchanters. We need to come together from both sides and tackle this problem head on!

So in reality enchantment really suck when it comes to makeing stuff that people wants?
About 5% damage over time. Sure you will do more damage over time with several mobs but just think about when you attack a mob with several 1000 hits...... the 5 extra damage each attack will almist just be like a itch...
Sure it will be good on a fast rogue with daggers but what about dwarfs with axes?
With this cind of enchantments no dwarf will want to buy enchantment. Or any warrior who uses large, slow, heavy damage weapons.
I really want to make magical itimes but somehow this makes me get cold feets about continiou that skill....

Guess it dose suck,as if their is an other way to put dammage on you axe? i guess if ya look at it short sighted and only look at the direct dammage. If you boost str or agi in the case of hunters, your attack power goes up and that equals extra dammage. Guess ya didnt take to heart what i had to say about nickle and diming the dammage up but thats ok.
Enjoy the game

An enchantment no matter how small it is worth it. For example you take 2 warriors they both have the exact same level, skill, talent configuration, weapon, and armor, however one of the warriors has his gloves enchanted with +5 strenth. (a mid range enchant) Now knowing all of this who do you think would win...the warrior with the enchant. Some would say 'but what if the other guy is better at fighting or that he could use a special strategy, etc. to beat the warrior with the enchant'. This also true but now if you were in a fight with a mob or another would you want every advantage you could have?

Well, this is how it goes:

Standard dagger; 13dmg/2speed = 6.5dps.
Enchanted with2+dmg :15dmg/2speed = 7.5 dps.

1DPS is nice enough..

Standard sword; 30dmg/3speed : 10dps
2+ Dmg ; 32dmg/3speed : 10.6x dps

Just a very simple way to show that +dmg is very nice for a rogue, but doesn't matter so much with heavy weapons with long cooldowns.
