The Usefulness of WeaponsmithingFollow

Hey there, I have a question about weaponsmith....how is it usefull? I right now can only make a limited variety, The Shattere, Phantoms and Blights, but heck I can't find even one way being a weaponsmith helps me.

Making weapons for myself I found to be very hard, and you sometimes need to accelerate the blacksmithing leveling buying stuff from AH, that then, plus the materials needed, you waste enough money to buy the weapon.

Selling weapons, like say Phantoms, I found to be too much time consuming or too little profitable. Breath of wind is soo hard to get, I could be in Tanaris all day and maybe make one Phantom, while I can be grinding in another place for say Wildvine and make more money. Buying the materials, I found, doesn't give you a profit. I see 1 Breath of Wind for around 5g on AH. Maybe I'm wrong, if so, please correct me!!

So here I am, still remembering the words of the Special Weapon Crafter when he told me weaponsmithing is where the money is. Please, any weaponsmithis out there that can share some tips? I'm desperate!!

I dropped out of Blacksmithing a little after the Green Iron stuff, so I can't help you much, but in my guild our Weaponsmith is quite good at her job. She's not doing it for herself, but rather going out looking for Breaths of Wind with whoever wants her to make a weapon.

If you don't like how it's going for you at the moment, then there's no need to keep going. Had I decided to, I'd have opted for armour-making, but the fact that I was getting things that were plenty better than what I was making made me realise that blacksmithing really doesn't play well with my lack of interest for gathering ingrediants. Going in to Tailoring and Enchanting has brought new life in to trade skills for me and made it so that I can actually be bothered to keep going with it, even if I do have to juggle all the magical essences I have due to little room in the bank. ^,^;

*Ahem* Anyway, it's all up to whatever you would rather do. If it's not very much fun to be pushing up your level, then forget it and find another line of work. If you think that eventually it'll pay off, then perhaps you should keep it up. Offer to make a weapon like the Phantom Sword or Truesilver Champion for someone if they'll help you gather what is needed.

Hmmm, maybe you are right, but I'm not ready to drop blacksmith, not after soo much time spent on it. I'll give it another try, but before that I would like to see all the weapons that weaponsmiths are able to make, anyone knows where to search for that?

I am a weaponsmith and i find it very profitable. You have to consider the fact that when you make a weapon you might not earn a whole ton of profit but the skill point is just as important. I farm Breath of Wind for about an hour a day and get around 3 usually. I make a Phantom Blade and sell it in AH about 2 times a week. They always sell for 45-50g buyout. It does cost a lot but once you get it max'd out and you become Master Swordsmith or whichever you chose it is def. worth it. You can get high lvl weapons and supply guildies with what they need. Its a much better profession if you are in a guild and can help better the guild.
