haste and speed enchantmentsFollow

There is a glove 1% haste and a boot 1% speed enchancement, I was wondering if anyone knew if they worked or not? I've read old posts about the speed bit not doing anything. Was thinking of getting the haste, but wasnt sure if it was worth it over stats.
