Herbalism MappingFollow

Ok I have been sitting on what I assume, and others will, is a crazy but helpful idea. That is to track the location of herb nodes in the game using cosmos coordinates. I realize that this is a VAST undertaking but the information gained would be more than helpful for anyone that has herbalism/alchemy as their trade skills. I wouldn't ask people to go out of their way to find all of this, but to just take a second to right down where you find a herb.

If you think that this can/should be done please leave feedback or rate up this post. I would get started on this but first I want to see if there is a demand for this.

There's already a mod that 'remembers' where various herbs and mining veins are. I don't have the link for the addon, but I'm guessing it can be found at [link=www.curse-gaming.com]curse-gaming[/link].

Ok let me clear things up as far as what I mean. I am thinking about creating a database of herb locations. Being that our radar only has a limited range, you have to still walk around and find the herbs. I am saying write down the location that you find the herb and put it into a database.

You could sort it out by Zone > Herb > Cosmos Coordinates. I mean lets say you need some stranglekelp, typically found in open water. So rather than wander up and down the coast of a region you can goto the exact spawn location that someone has recorded. It would help greatly in leveling herbalism and alchemy because you would know where a specific herb was located.

I am just wondering if any other herbalist find this to be a good idea.

Have you ever gone and looked at www.thottbot.com?

There are maps of potential herb spawns. Or you can do what I do and use the MapNotes aspect of Cosmos and put notes on your map with all the places you find herbs.

2 AddOns: MapNotesGatherer and Gatherer (I prefer MapNotesGatherer), get them from curse-gaming. They save the location on your main map.

I use the Gatherer addon. Here's the home page for it:
