None..

Proffesions is as different as play styles..

Some wanna get some money and therefor goes the gathering way.
Some wanna make there own armor, and goes tailering and so on.
Some wanna go engi/enchant. to make there stuff, and guilds, better..

So, in conclusion, there is no "right" prof.

I agree. Its very much dependent upon what you enjoy doing. My main character is a rogue. I knew I’d have a lot of alts and that each one would be doing different professions. So I decided to have my rogue take up skinning and mining. That way he could provide my alts with crafting supplies. I also felt it would come in handy to have a rogue who could stealth into caves and mine nodes without fighting mobs all the way in. And thus far it’s worked out very well. I enjoy gathering up resources. Its just a shame he can’t take herbalism as well.

I personally think that engineering would benifit a mage or priest more than any other class because of the creations they can make. The creations require engineering and are almost all cloth (armor items). I would include mage's, but they have a pet that would not allow them to mind control things...or at least I know it doesn't work with a hunter (what I use).

But, on the other hand, I really enjoy some of the trinkets that engineers make and ammo/guns that I can make for myself... like stated before, all your choice on what you want.
