I'd like to start by saying that my first post about the crafting of leather called ; Dragonscale, Elemental & Tribal. Lets talk. was such a success I thought I'd break down into the individual parts. Separating each of the Q & A for easy reading for everyone. Each one will start just as this. Respective title for each type of craft. With this separations, I'll be able to update more often. Thanks and happy posting.
I'm updating this post as people post on it. Easily accessed information regarding the Dragonscale, Elemental & Tribal will be provided below.

Question by : Gratz
Can you only choose one of the three types and thats what your stuck with or can you make all three types if you do the quests?

*Special note: If you choose Elemental as your specialty craft you cannot train in Tribal or Dragonscale.

QUESTION:
Elemental:
At what skill level can you being to use this?

You must be level 40 to begin the quest, but I would advise to start collecting the quest items prior to that level.

What crafting skill level do you have to be to be begin crafting Elemental items?

Could an Elemental crafter answer this and post the information? Thank you.

Where do you find the Elemental trainer?

Sara Tanner is located in the Searing Gorge. If someone knows more accurate description to her location it would be greatly appreciated if you were to post it. Thank you.

Access Saering Gorge from Badlands via a narrowish passage on the west zone wall of Badlands.

What is the name of the Elemental trainer?

Sara Tanner. Alliance.

-Elemental
Leatherworking with various buffs, (mostly agil and stam) some resistances, (mostly fire) and specials (like heal, or cause fire damage) Not many recipes that I can find. Best for those that stay ranged. Like hunters, but the agility buff is good for Rogues as well.

If this helps anyone, here are some links to the different armor types to aid you in deciding which leatherworking path to take.

As noted several times in this thread, you may only choose one of the following three paths for high-end leatherworking (at level 40+).

The intent here is to aid our fellow leatherworkers 8)

Hey all. Tycon, thanks for putting this together, very good info.

I still however have my most important question... Stormshroud armor series has +2% on critical. Is this for both ranged and melee or only melee?? Does it stack with other items that give + to crit?

See, I've just finished gathering all the stuff for Dragonscale working, but might not complete quest and switch to elemental if those % bonus apply to ranged too.

Thanks!

any idea what the set bonus is for the volcanic gear?

I would say that the %crit does work on both melee and ranged. I am assuming this because I dont know how to view ranged crit%, but other mods like Attack bonus DO work for both. Crit also stacks if you have multiple crit items on (my Rogue has like 7% from items).

Since server is down, I'll go over my Elemental career incase anyone is interested.

You get 2 patterns available after completing the quest to get Elemental Leatherworking. I wanted the Helm of Fire because of the agility, and started farming. Two days later I made one and used it until I found a Ghostshroud.

The only other great Rogue items are the Stormshroud set. From memory the mats to make a complete set are 8x Essence of Water, 8x Essence of Air, 140 Rugged Leather, 2 Enchanted Leather, and misc tailor supplier items. Essence of Air is only currently available from alchemists that have done Scholo quests, and is in high demand reaching 50g buyouts on the AH each.

If I could have farmed the Essence of Air I would have had the set ages ago, and it would have rocked. Now after 500 raids I only really want the shoulders.

I heard somewhere that the merchant in BRD that you turn stuff into has an Elemental Pattern, but you need 10xCore Leather to open it up, and this is only looted off mobs in MC.

Overall I find Elemental Leatherworking to be a waste of time. If/When Essence of Air is farm-able from Silithus, some good money can be made though. The patterns take lots of elemental ingredients that can take ages to farm, or tons of gold to buy. Farming is much faster at lvl 60, but you no longer really need the items you can make if you regularly do instances.
