Goblin or Gnome?Follow

Forgive me if a similar post like this has come up, but should i go with goblin engineering or gnome? Goblins get some cool bombs, but gnomes get all the really cool stuff, like the mind control cap. Which one should I go with?

What is your class/faction?

I am a gnome (alliance) mage, and I went gnomish.

As a mage, I have AoE spells, and I don't wanna use big bombs and aggro the whole group. As such, things like the death ray, mindcontrol cap, etc. are more interesting.

If you are more of a tank, bombs might be good, especially for paladins who lack ranged attacks and wanna get aggro.

I don't know if it is harder to get gnomish training as horde. I realize there's a gnomish trainer of some sorts in Booty Bay, but not sure if he's the one to begin with.

Just my 2 cents.

well you say it, goblins get the bombs and gnomes get the devices.
but whichever you take, you can get someone to build something from the other tree for you, and you can still use it.

the devices are cool, the bombs also. just think what you want the most. an ******* of battle chickens and death rays or 100's of bombs :) and as previous poster said, class can also work out.

but i would go for the tree you think will be the most fun, thats what its all about right?

goblin side gets a mithril dragon and a dragon fire gun, so that makes it equal to the chicken and deathray basically. The goblins get cool bombs and mortars, and you can get a gnome enigeer to make that cap and net for you.

Actually, Mithril Dragonling is creatable by both sides, it's a vendor schematic.

As far as everything else goes, class is a major consideration in your choices. Pallies and Warriors are probably better off with the Goblin side because of the boost to their ranged prowess. Hunters get more out of Gnomish than goblin because they're already pretty adept at range. Rogues are probably fine no matter which way they go. It's a bigger grey area with everybody else, since most engineering items definitely cater to the less "magical" of the class spectrum.

Well their is not a huge diffrence between the two...only like 3 plans that are worthwhile on each side,i wouldnt sweat it... i took goblin as my buddie is gnomeish we can make and trade most all of them...cept the BoP(deathray and dragon gun)(the summond pet bomb or the battle chicken) essentaly the same... just a few items seperate the two
jsut my opinion

i seem to be posting this link alot lately lol.

http://thecartel.org/Tradeskills/engi/intro.html

nice break down on the bind on pickup items from the two sides.
which of corse is what seperates the 2.

mainly
it comes down to reloading mortars and high end grenades for goblin
and various trinkets and special case equipment for gnome

each side can make everything else.. and trade the non bind on pickups they make..
