Hello! I've taken up Herbalism and Alchemy, and am part of the Alliance. I would like to know what level restrictions there are. I'm only level 10 so far, and I have herbalism at level 75 right now. I'd like to get new herbs (Earthroot, silverleaf, and peacebloom are nice but boring...and a bit cheap ^_^).

So, I'm curious: are there "hard" level restrictions to professions (such as, "you can only get to level 150 in alchemy until you're level 15."), or are there only restrictions due to what herbs you can farm, recipes you can buy, etc.?

That being asked... does anyone know a link to a good site on areas to find herbs? I looked on thottbot for mageroyal (I need it for a mana potion), but it just keeps taking me back to the main page. Or is there an informal guide on allakhazam?

Added: Nevermind, I just found a thread on herbalism/alchemy, which I will post in and bump.

Still, I'd like to know what I can safely gather at level 10. Thanks for any help!

All the production professions, such as leatherworking and tailoring, have character level restrictions. I’ll post a link to them. But the gathering professions do not. I expect the reason they don’t is that they are self restricting. To gather high end herbs or high end ore, you have to be able to get past high level mobs. And if your level 10 in a level 50 zone you won’t live for long. And you’re not going to be able to kill level 50 animals at level 10 in order to skin them. So as far as gathering professions go, take them as far as you can.
