Rare items for enchantingFollow

#1 Jan 30 2005 at 2:19 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, i am lvl 167 at enchanting and have started to need large glimmering shards, but cant seem to find them very often, when i do find them they are usually in rare (blue) items that i disenchant. i just wanted to know if there is a good place to get rare items as drops (im lvl 37 so it cant be too high lvls).

Thanks for your Input.

Have someone make a rare item for you to disenchant. That or start a new char for this purpose. I'm a lv 38 hunter and make items for my friend to disenchant in exchange for free enchantments.

selling enchants to ppl including a large glimmering shard, take like 5g for them, cause, the shards are kinda hard to get. The 100% drop from disenchants are like illusionary rod from scarlet monestary... which is a waste.....

tailoring goes well with enchanting i think

I agree. I went enchanting/tailoring it workes well. if you keep both around the same levels. I make green and blue items for my enchanting all the time. It's fairly cheeap too cause you only need to kill Humanoids for the cloths. You do this to level anyway. Then tailor and disenchant and poof. you up there in levels and skill.

You could always go with skinning or mining as a different job. This way you make money and use that to buy items from the auction house. this keeps you a slave to the market which is why I didn't do it.

Leatherworking is also good. cause of the same reasons as tailoring except you kill beasts. The downsides are u need to buy the leathers and secondly they take up lots of space because it takes alot of leather to make some items. Also if u are leatherworking and enchanting you don't have skinning which can be a problem.

In my opinion the best combo would be to go skinning and enchanting and have a mule or friend to do the leatherworking for you. This is because leather is easier to get then cloth because you get some from any beast you kill.

Hope this helps
