Enchant Boots-minor speedFollow

#1 Jan 19 2005 at 2:12 PM Rating: Decent
Well, I havent seen a post on this yet but then i havent dug in too far. Just wanted to let yall who may be wondering that i petitioned as to the wortlessness of this enchantment. I cast this on my boots and those of a good friend. We then both raced my wife from Xroads to RF. She darn near beat us. very sad.
The response to my petition was that Blizz is aware there are issues with the enchantment and that they are working on them and hope to have the problem solved soon.

It sucks and i HATE the waiting but at least those of us who have wasted the reagents on this enchantment have something to look forward to.

agree with above post. The enchantment to make your boots run faster was the main reason I did enchanting. Now too much time and $ spent on enchanting to turn back.

I think I'd do skinning and mining if I had to do over. Buy the stuff ya need. Alchemy and herbalism is the only other combo. Engineering looks good also.

Get the point I want to do all the tradskills. Let us do them all why limit us.

Currently the minor speed enchantment does absolutly nothing.

I was quite disappointed

the reason you're limited as to the number of tradeskills you can take up is due to FFXI. there, it was possible to max out all tradeskills, and as a result people could control small portions of the economy by being able to force the price on certain items due to the fact they could make their own components cheapley, and therefore low level items in such quantity that the selling price of them dropped below profit margins, making it impossible for new low-level crafters to make profit. ensuring a player can manufacture only two kinds of items at the most means they cannot, at high levels, make, and therefore manipulate the prices of massive chunks of the economy....unless of course they cooperate with other players, like a business IRL.

Good theory. Correct on why WoW limited tradeskills. However, FFXI limited tradeskills too. You were only allowed one craft past 60. (or other combinations of 40 that no one ever did)

The selling of items below profit margins did make it impossible for lower level crafters to profit. However, this was not caused by level 60 crafters. You need to be significantly higher than the crafting level of the item to HQ it regularly. (see Erun's thread)

Level 60 crafters could ruin level 10 or 20 items, but didn't profit much (in terms of HQs) on others.

The people that did manage to destroy profits were 60+ crafters. Usually most had mules for multiple trades near 100.

Trust me, it's going to be so much easier to get 300 in all tradeskills in WoW than it is in FFXI. I'd probably be close already if the tradeskills were more useful.

umm this is real world economy research it. its normal for an established corporation to undercut its competition to below its compititions cost. I did this long before ffxi in EQ . There were times when i would just around the bazaar buy every regent then add a plat/stack price increase walla 16plat in an hour or if there were too many regents to buy id drop my price below everyones walla 16plat in an hour. on cable so i was on literally 24hrs aday and not just selling low cost regents did it with higher cost regents as well walla 16kplat in an hour. ffxi didnt bring anything new to the table, neither did eq check out ultima for the grandaddy of cheap trix and tips in a mmorpg
