When did the Dunes become a Power Level fest?

Like 8 out of the 10 parties I was in, had one.

Not just the dunes. When I was working on sub jobs, a majority of the parties had PLs. I even managed to get PLs for two different parties in the 60-70 levels.

Because that's where you start to learn your job in party situations. How will tanks learn to tank if the PL has hate on the mob the whole time? How will WHMs learn to manage MP if they never use it b/c the PL keeps everyone @ full HP? etc etc.

If you don't want to put up with that, I suggest soloing to 20+, with the changes over the past year to signet it's easy to do

Well, actually I really don't mind a PL. However, it's situational. Besides, it was just a question. :P

I noticed that after I came back after not playing for a year.
although in the last 4 weeks or so, its become increasingly difficult to get a party in valkurm during the week at the times I play 9pm - 12:30am uk time and quite often any u do get are made up of whatever's available (limited) and cant really function properly without a PL.

Well, to add on to this. I finally managed to get out of the level range of the dunes. Thankfully, so far at Qufim, no Power-levelling at all.

However, I am going to agree with you fatal, how can character skill develop if all there is constant spamming of Weapon Skills and rapid Nuking due to the increased safety of PLs?

I don't know. I'm usually welcoming to a PL but from 16-19 it was a nightmare. While I kept my cool and try to remember all of the macros and what weapons to use. I managed to feel that I have accomplished something to learn my job as a WAR is.

I will agree with the I got so many jobs at bla level argument when leveling smn and being able to use my bloodpacts in stead of curing all the time. This is the only job I know that actually works beter in a PL party because there able to use a abilitie they need to level and otherwise won't.

But at the end of the line a decent pt just doesn't need a PL. At any level a pt should be able to get decent exp the way it was meant. It's also pretty common in my experience that things in a PL pt go wrong. Whm ( if there is one ) is spamming dia , holy and so forth. Then the PL is afk to take a crap , out of mp , being bored to death not paying attention ending in a complete wipe.

The most fun PL i ever had was a mnk that brought a 75 rdm friend and told the pt that his friend wouldn't cure anybody but him. That way he was able to keep counterstance up 24/7 and sub war. And even he bit the bullit lol.

But the worst thing happend last week. I don't know if this would fall under the namer PL but at 70 pld we had 3 !! people outside the pt curing us in the mire. I wonder what wil make a person so desperate as to do that....

Lol luckily everyone already had higher level jobs and knew what they were doing but it was still pretty rediculous. Also Bsts are interesting PLs because they can pull for you too w/ charm+leave

just wait til I get RDM/BST level'd past 70 :P
