Some questions about RemoraFollow

#1 Oct 24 2004 at 5:59 PM Rating: Decent
I just started playing FFXI again, my content IDs where deleted so I am having to start over, and I am now on the Remora server.

I am curious about a few thing that I am hoping some of you could clear up for me.

I am stuck in a bind between WoW, EQ2, and FFXI. At this time FFXI holds the most magic for me so I am planning on playing it indefinatly, but I am wondering what the game has as far as end game? I am a rather hardcore player, I had a full /play 350 days logged time since Dec 16, 2000 on one of my EQ characters I quit over a year ago. I can spend around 40 hours a week playing, sometimes more, maybe as much as 8 hours a day, sometimes a little less. I am looking for a LS, someone to raid with, so I am curious who Remora has? Are there any LSs that players might avoid as they do not practice good sportsman ship? Are there any american LSs that raid regularlly and demand high requirments for new members: lvl 70/35, AF, and other things that I am too newbie to know of?

Finding info on XI is hard, most of the forums are just people whining, no concrete information. If I am looking for a game to play like it is a 2nd full time job then is FFXI the one for me? If so does this server have any linkshells that just love them some raiding? If so are(is) these(this) linkshell full of nice people in reguards from a 3rd person perspective?

Any feedback I could get would be awesome.

Thank you,

Valorborn

From what I understand you need to be 60+ to start getting in on HNM ls. or level 70+ to start getting in on dynamis raids. It kinda depends on your definition of "Raid". These are the real end game activities (in conjunction with high level crafting). I've been playing this game for over 10 months and am still level 55 so that'll give you a ball park to the amount of gaming you will have to do. (I'm currently doing about 20+ h a week).

There are "Promyvion Raids" that you do at level 30, and I guess you could qualify the Expeditionary Forces and Garrison quests as "Raids" these range from 20-65 level wise.
