ah, Good ole Remora blacklist thread. Everytime I drop in to check up on it, despite my better judgement saying just stay away, I get this INT down effect from reading it.....

According to Wikipedia, which was found to have as many mistakes as some other big name, profiting encyclopedia whose name I fail to recall at the moment, remora is not necessarily a parasite by definition, and is credited to the defeat of Mark Anthony (hey, our name's sake defeated the guy who banged Cleopatra...that's hot...).

i'm sorry i just absolutely HAD to point this out (and therefore prove my dork/nerd status i guess >.>) a remora is not a parasite, some say it forms commensalism (doesn't affect host and benefits self) but my personal opinion is that they are mutual w/ their host in that they eat various parasites such as copepods off of their host. sorry for the nerd rant^^ oh and sorry for going out-of-server (i got bored) i'm from Hades fyi.

Bathory.. The worst low level Paladin I've ever met.

I joined a party in Garlaige, to find when I get there that there's a 50ish White Mage PLer. Okay. The party is PLD DRK/NIN DRG/WAR MNK/THF COR/RNG WHM. One person to Cure everyone in the party, including a Paladin tank. Okay, well, they had the PL when I joined.

Bathory was horrible at Provoking when the puller got back to camp. The COR was pulling at first, and would almost die every pull, because he'd get hit several times at camp waiting for someone to Provoke it off him. I took over pulling for him and I would get back to camp without using a single Utsusemi shadow, only for all my shadows to be used and sometimes I'd even get hit before Bathory would Provoke the mob. Okay, well, I can deal. I mean, it's just when pulling, right?..

Nobody ever Provoked the mob after Bathory's initial (albeit late) Provoke. I actually got hate simply from using a Pineapple Juice. Was I really pumping out all that damage that using an item got me hate? Probably not.. Considering the Paladin only Provoked once, if lucky twice, during a 3-4 minute long fight. I would get hit, the in-party WHM would pull hate constantly, the MNK got hate, the DRG got hate.

My BRD75 friend came to help keep us alive. Getting hate from casting Blizzard resisted for 17 damage.. or getting hate from using a Pineapple Juice.. That's just not a safe party environment. I wanted xp, but I didn't want to get it in a high-risk situation. Even with the BRD75 helping us, everyone in the party got hit, including the in-party WHM. He was Curing to help, not to be the main healer and tank at once. And Bathory still would not Provoke the mob every 30 seconds to keep hate.

After the party ended when the replacement-in-party-WHM left and I left (the PLD died when my BRD75 friend left to go eat.. because one WHM in a party is a crappy noob setup), Bathory's friend (also a PLer, but was AFK for ~10min when the party broke) came back from AFK and asked "Party disband? 'Cause you made that brd mad? lol". (My BRD75 friend was making fun of Bathory in /say because Bathory insisted on talking in /say and doing stupid /emotes while playing, and my BRD75 friend could blatantly see how bad Bathory was as a PLD, since my friend's also a PLD.) Conversation:

Bathory's PL friend: Party disband? 'Cause you made that brd mad? lol
Bathory: f*ck that brd
(Yeah, @#%^ that brd that kept everyone alive because Bathory sucked horribly at his job.)
me: no, because he had to go eat :)
me: and the PLD died on the next mob, because the pt was setup relying solely on a PL and the PLD died :)
Bathory: no because you're bitch ass pulled and i had no mp
(If half-MP isn't enough to fight, then perhaps you should bring Juice.. Or maybe not blame the puller when you hardly ever Provoke anyway... I guess that was someone else's fault, too... Oh yes! It's the PL's fault! /shrug.)
me: You were a sucky PLD anyway who voked once a mob.. twice if lucky. So meh.

me: That's how noobs get to 75 and can't play their jobs.

I'm sorry, but if you don't play your job and you rely on a PL to do all the work at level 30+.. That's just sad. A Paladin who doesn't even try to tank because there's a PL is the most worthless waste of a party slot ever. PLs can help Cure, help the party on MP-usage pre-41, help with links and such.. Not doing your job in a party because there's a PL is just being lazy and noob.

That reminds me, did Bathory actually quit or not?

Okay yesterday, the reason why I was advertising a D.A.Ghelsba cap match was because I had reserved it four (then three) days ago for an LS event. Sadly, no one showed and I had an unused timeslot.

I was sitting near Tillecoe in Ru'Lude and it was time for birthday cake downstairs for my sister. Go downstairs, eat, sing, come back up and Tillecoe is swarmed with people. Apparently, this RDM Jorge was going to have a 1v1 against someone, no clue. When they found out I reserved it they were bitching like it was going out of style, at who? Me. I had reserved this space and they were angry that when they needed it, they couldn't have it.

Tough love kids. I won't blist him (because that seems to be a big catalyst for tank death >.<) but just call him out on the floor: you're a jackass. Probably would not understand a little preparation if it killed him: most mages aren't accustomed to not having what they want.

Amroth.

Started a party yesterday without an intention of going to a particular place. I was in party as WAR with a friend who was RDM. Saw Amroth seeking as NIN, along with another NIN so tried to grab them both.

me: Hello! Party Do you need it? Garlaige Citadel?
Amroth: Eastern Altepa Desert ?

Said sure, didnt really matter to me. Little did I know what this would turn into. Immediately after he joins the party, my RDM friend makes the token 'oh god' comment. He was NIN and Rank 10, so I figured he'd know a little bit about the game.

He joins the pt...along with the other nin Afheal.

Amroth: Can Afheal tank? I suck at tanking.

...ok, sure you back up tank at least.

Amroth: How are we getting to Altep?
me: My gf is coming to tele us
Amroth: No thanks, I don't want to make two trips... can someone change?

At this point he's pissed me off, so I tell him to settle down and I'll take care of it.

We head towards camp near zone at West Altepa. There's a party there, so we move to the side a bit. He keeps running towards the edge of the zone where all the pops are and says "We should really camp here". Having camped in the spot I was standing many times, I lashed back with "Do you want to lead the party or go back to lfp?". His response was "-.- just pull".

So I pull the first mob. Afheal tanks... no back up voke from Amroth, so I do. After the fight...

Amroth: I need to go afk for 6-10 minutes. ok?

Alright. I was done, had enough. We started fighting another mob, I kicked him from the party and invited a BLU. Chain 4-5 everytime, 175-250 exp off beetles and dhalmels. Very good party, Afheal did a great job tanking.

For an hour Amroth stood at our camp. Suddenly I see him sit down and put his flag up. And then I get a tell.

Amroth>> Are you full?

lol, he thought I was going to invite him back. Explained that a neighbor had him watch his kid for an hour when he thought it would be 10 minutes. Honestly I would have kicked him from the party just from his earlier comments. That and my RDM had told me he was tanking for them the day before and did the same thing... and also was watching TV and used that as an excuse for not keeping his shadows up.

Traded to Mr X for Mr Y who sold it for Player X and then traded to Mr Y who started playing Amaroth to camp NMs then stolen from Mr X by Mr Y who hacked Player X to give gil to Mr Y who was working for LS XYZ and then shanged accounts to start LS ABC and then ended up giving the acount to player X for Mr Y who is now Amaroth a complete newb

I rarely read these forumms or post, but we got a LS merit PT goin the other day up at Ulli camp, and we killed Ulli cuz he popped not long after we got there, next thing ya know, a Ulli pop party satrts showin up, NP, I tell em we killed it all ready and theres no reason to jkill our exp mobs

good enough? nope.... Sadpanda has a huge group there just killin all our mobs, we were chaining 6-8 w/a base exp of 180-200+

there response was we only killed one, and were skillin up, or were here for exp too

they kiled quite a few and kept killin them, were skillin up reg weapons, cuz RNGs gotta skill up marksmanship and DRGs there polearm and BLMs there elemental magic =\

the biggest jacks of em all was Unspeakable and Skidmarkx (there LS lead)we stayed there for about 1.5 hrs tryin to chain and outpull but we can nly kill so fast as a exp PT =VS= an Alliance

what a bunch of asshats, but I guess wasting 16+ ppl killing Aura Statues for over 2 hrs is a good use of Sky Farm time... idiots
