What's the state of the server these days?Follow

Server population seems to be 1500+ at off-peak times and I've seen it over 3000 now and then. I imagine campaign battles are pretty underpopulated right now since they added a similar system to Abyssea with much greater rewards.

While its "crowded"......Abyssea was designed to stop overcrowding. Put it to you this way: EVERYONE was leveling their 75-80 jobs in Abyssea 2-3 months ago. As you may remember I start all my parties (in Abyssea its alliances now), and maybe with the exception of Saturday mornings (6 AM - 11 AM EST), I NEVER had a problem with getting a camp. Put it to you this way: the three zones introduced in June could hold 16 ALLIANCES in "desired" EXP spots. I havent played for about 2 weeks (I am interviewing for a new job and a requirement is I write a PPT for some complex operating systems - wish me luck this Thursday!), but from what I understand, the three new zones are very similar....and the three zones released in June can still be used for leveling 80-85, it just takes a bit longer to ramp up.....

Crowding really isnt a problem anymore.

Curiously population doesn't seem to have been affected by FFXIV at all during Japanese peak time. /sea all on Saturday (~early afternoon EU time) returned 3998, same again on Sunday 3950ish (mid afternoonish). That's pretty much what I see every weeekend. Most weekday nights are between 1500 and 2K EU time. That might change next weekend following the general release of XIV, but probably not by much.

Bastion during Japanese peak was a lag fest for me as a result, but I still got 25K in an hour and a bit, and it's not as bad as a really bad campaign lag-wise.

Thanks to Magian trials and Abyssea the population is pretty well spread overall though. I wandered through Terrigan and Ro'Maeve doing trials on Saturday and they were no more busy than in the last days of Kujata. Not touched Campaign since Abyssea came out.

All in all the higher-than-Kujata population is beneficial for finding people to do things, while the design of Abyssea (lots of camps, lots of fast-repop NMs, lots to do) has been sufficent to prevent overcrowding.

The best armor right now is literally like 10k per piece (its bought via the new "conquest points" in Abyssea). Hell, I will even give you all 3 entire sets for free (most of it gives haste, so....bonus). Only catch is its lvl 78.

If you wish, I am about to start lvling like mad again, getting all my jobs 80-85. I can get you into an abyssea party as the puller or box opener, and you can do that naked. Bonus, you will learn how to do Abyssea.

It's not great, but it'll do. EXP'ing in Abyssea sounds awesome.

Been looking for ya when I log on. Have yet to be on at the same time as you lol. I was wondering if CU would have a home for me and my friend (ryoshino)? :) It's become a kinda lonely game without a linkshell and the server seems deserted lol. Especially in the low levels :3
