Just to show how slow I am...Follow

This post has no point, I'm just in a really good mood last night and when I told all this stuff to my g/f she gave me the "you're a damn loser, why am I with you again?" look.

So anyway, started when FFXI launched for the PC in NA. Going off the date from when my first content ID was started, I've been playing for 2 years and a little over 3 months. Last night I FINALLY dinged 70 on my first job, and beat Maat ^^

After about a month of fighting DC's solo for 50-60 xp a pop (with the xp ring) I got an invite to trio with a couple of really good friends. Did that for 2 hours or so, and made a nice 7k. Then when I was going to flag Escort for this week, a REALLY old friend sent me a tell asking what my tnl was. Told him I was closing in on 15k, he asked if I wanted to party. Turns out a typical party couldn't find a replacement DD for thier Samurai, so I decided to check out the party scene as a BST. SO MUCH FUN. I got up there and was surprised that I could actually keep up with my buddy (Samurai) with TP. My ninja sub was gimped so I went BST/WAR, but I was still doing pretty sweet. I was hitting for 40 a pop, while my pet was hitting for an average of 70. Rampages were around 600, which really surprised me since Tachi: Gekko was getting about 800 with SATA.

So about 4 hours later I find myself at 500 tnl. Malakai was bugging me to do escort with him, so I found a replacement for my party, and headed off to CN to get me an xp scroll. So Malakai, one of his buds, and myself run thru a quick 10 minute escort, get our scrolls. So now my two partners in crime have logged on, and are about to start farming thier testimonies for thier maat fight. We head to Cape Terrigan and get 3 testimonies in about 30 min or so. Get geared up and ready for the fight.

Here's the part where I'm a dummy.

I get elected to go first. no biggy. Strip down nekid, enter the BC. Put on my opo-opo necklace and slept to 100% TP. Then I go to equip my gear.

/slap

Somebody is stupid and didn't equip his axe before he rose his TP. TP resets, and I spend another minute sleeping. TP up, use my blink band, call a HQ Diremite juggy, and close in on maat. He's got a bunny out (sweet) so I put my pet on maat, I whack his bunny for hate and drag him away. Rampage the bunny, bunny dead. Close in on Maat, get a couple whacks on the old man, throw a biscuit at my pet, and then Maat calls a beetle. Hit the beetle once, drag it away. Use /sic, and poof Maats dead.

I was so surprised, I went in with a Vile Elixer+1 for HP, an xp scroll to ding 70 for HP, and Icarus Wing for a second Rampage. Didn't use ANY of them.

So anyway, a long winded WOO HOO from me. I got all my cool new 70 gear last night (Ogre Gear rocks my socks) and today I get to farm/craft some gil back, and then start working on my Ninja sub.

and Marek and Lelili for helping with the Testimony and going thru maat together. (Also congrats on your wins to)

Hopefully Marek can upload the video he took of Maat, so you guys can see the action.

My god, they really were there all day. I got called into that party as a replacement at like 10:30 cst and I didn't really believe Phoenlx when he said he had been there for 8 hours already.

And ya more people should try inviting BSTs to their parties, they might be surprised. Even with my gimped equip set (no haubergeon) I've outdamaged a few other DD jobs. I guess most people remove 'effects by npcs' from the their chatlog and only see half of what the beastmaster actually does in damage. And it really grinds me gears when people say BST is just a gimped solo job just because they don't know better.

You could nab a pearl from Schaeffer, he's got a sack. I haven't seen him in forever tough, but that doesn't mean to much lol....

I'll be on tomorrow night, we're going to be trying our first All BST ZM4, so if you look for me anytime after 6pm CST I could get ya a pearl.

Otherwise, look for Beyonder, Botwolf, Marek, Lelili, Malakai, uhhhh... pretty much just ask BSTs lol, we can hook you up.

Yeah I was watching Folkin run through Boyahda and I saw you trioing there. Grats on 70 man. Its true those HQ diremites are disgusting, I used one and it soloed Maat for me too.

I tried to film my Maat fight but it seemed fraps stopped working after like a minute and I can't figure out why... I'm gonna get another testimony and try beating him the oldschool way without the new jugs.
