I am SOOOO sorryFollow

#1 Aug 31 2004 at 7:12 PM Rating: Good
I was in a party in Valkurm Dunes today, and I killed a party that would have done VERY well in my opinion, I was my 14NIN/7WAR
and the player Nymphe(the leader) was very kind, we where killing a crab and I hit alt +1 and used mijin gakure killing myself and almost everyone in the party, I had Mijin Gakure macroed for when I was soloing and did it so if I got in a bad Situation I would not lose exp. I am sorry I didnt set my HP and didnt take off my macro so I would like to apoligize to the players of the party

I'M AM SOOOO SORRY WHITEMAGELORD AND NYMPHE!!!

I'm sorry to hear about it. Nothing worst than making a mistake and bringing down others.

Sorry but as a ninja i don't think your 2-hr should b macroed either.

I know i'm not a ninja expert but during battle things get a little hectic and all of us or maybe just me tend to hit the wrong macro from time to time.

Please send tells if you can to your former party members, if you can. I'm not to sure if they'll get to read your apology in this message board.

If they're cool people they'll just laugh it off & rub it in your face for the rest of your Final Fantasy days ;) for a good laugh.

I never macro my 2 hour. Not because I'm a silly DRK and my 2 hour is a bit stupid, but because macros are for frequentely used abilities/spells (or which need to be used quick-sharp). Not macroing a 2 hour both saves the chance of accidents and frees up a macro slot. Any mage who has their 2 hour macro'd is crazy, they need as many slots as they can get.

You wouldn't say that if Chainspell > Escape saves you :p

If something happens and I need to use it, I'd rather be able to press one button rather than having to open the first menu > Abilities > Job Abilities > Chainspell. The time I save by just hitting a macro may be the time needed to save my party.

For a Rdm, I see macroing Chainspell as no different than macroing Convert (which I also do and am sure most do). Yes I've hit both of them on accident at times, but it's not such a huge deal since I don't rely on either. They're just nice to have at times.

As a side note, I have Chainspell macroed on a lesser used bar in order to prevent accidentally using it (unless I'm cycling through bars too fast and think it's another spell in the same position :p)

As for "quick-sharp" 2 hrs, I personally think Chainspell and Benediction (for mage classes) fall into that catagory since when they're used, it's usually life or death at that moment.

Heh, I dunno how many times I've wished I had Invincible macro'd. :p Aggro that gob or two or train by accident in the middle of an area and start heading towards the zone, only to be killed because while I was clicking through the menus to find it, I ran into a stump or something that stopped me from continuing...

Or ****, even in parties I dont even think about using it until I get to about 100 HP, but usually I assume the WHM has some MP and can cure me. By the time I realize I need to set that sucker off, I'm 1 hit from dieing...or dead already.

It's good that you posted that though, this way they know you didn't, you know, "accidentally" hit the wrong macro.

Perhaps change your macro around to avoid the same thing happening in the future? For example, change <me> to <stpc>
Gives you another level of input, so you avoid accidentally blowing your 2h.

I don't have a when-I-was-young-and-posted-on-alla comment, but I found this humorous thinking back to my blm days...

Another thing not to macro is warp...everything was going great for me in an exp party in Yhoator Jungle when, trying to cast some nuke, and after a few seconds of log-lagging I notice...

Elvislives starts casting Warp

*Thinking to myself: CRAP!! MOVE!!1!*

Elvislives vanishes.

One time when I was playing on my Bytor character, I was in a manaburn party in Boyadha Tree. We were just getting into a rhythm and kicking some *** when I apparently accidentally hit the Escape macro. For reasons that were never clear to me, I didn't effectively cancel the spell (though I thought I had).

Needless to say, I got quite an earful from a few of the more hardcore levelwhores in the party when we found ourselves suddenly in the Sanctuary of Zi'Tah and faced with running all the way back to our camp spot.

So let this be a good lesson for all you aspiring BLM's out there: Do NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES play your BLM in a serious XP party whilst drunk.
