don't mean to hijack but I also came back and just haven't found a single english speaking player in four days of playing.
I'm a former player from 2007 on fairy. I had a 75 bard...starting brand new with a level 20 Monk. Really looking to see if anyone is out there.

Let me know if you guys want a linkshell, I'm willing to help out. I'm relatively new myself starting 2 months ago, but already doing endgame stuff. There's another ls member who is very helpful as well (he helped me out when I started) and we'd love to have new or returning players. I'll also try to /sea for you guys in game if you haven't already found a ls.

There are definitely English players out there, but when you play can be a factor. Understandably, bumping into random people out in the field at lower levels can also be a bit of a rarity depending on what you're up to. Once you're 20+ and more likely to be lurking about Jeuno, you'll see things are more active. But yeah, snagging a newbie friendly LS isn't a bad idea.
I'd have to agree with everyone else just look around, talk to others or wait until you get into Jeuno. Especially Port Jeuno ;) I've been playing since 2007 on and off and I just got back on playing again due to the fact that my sister showed interest in playing so we started a ls together to help new players, socialize and just work together while having fun in the game. If anything just /tell me my character name is Mystirio and I'd be more than willing to help you guys out with anything.

Nice to meet you folks I'm also a returning player to FFXI, Just made my players last night made a Galka, Male Hume & Male Elveaan to see witch I want to go on the big journey with, My old character was an Elveaan have the same one made but I would like to get THF & RNG going this time around, I lvled up WAR to about 40 SAM/52 MNK/30 DRG/30... But that char is long gone i started him at the end of 2003 stopped playing year 2006 when we moved on to a different city.
