Though I despise public flaming, and such malicious and petty remarks do not typically warrant a response, the particularly exagerrated account of events in this case does warrant a response. Allow me to set the record straight.

1) After trying to talk you OUT of quitting the game, you exagerrate a bit on what was given to me. As can be SEEN here:

2) Yes, I did in fact make a deal to purchase an abjuration, i'm not proud of it, but it's true. The deal has since, by the way, fallen though. I had originally planned to finance this purchase through the sale of my own items, if which, it woudl only take a few to make the gil necessary. After recipt of these new items as a result of Tibians QUITTING, I now could sell these items and not have to cannibalize my own inventory.

3) 3 days later, after having sold most big ticket items on AH and in bazaar, low and behold, Tibian changed his mind about quitting the game and returns, promptly demanding all his items back, which of course, i did not have.

IMPORTANT NOTE
4) Upon Tibains return, I GLADLY agreed to get back Tibians items and return to him the gil gifted to me, but he would have to wait a few days for me to raise the money, being that i had spent the gil I had made from selling those items. It was a simple matter of selling the items I had planned to sell in the first place to make that gil back. This, however, was apparently unacceptable to Tibian. But, there was not much else to be done about it other than to wait a few days.

5) In the following days, yes, i did in fact blacklist Tibian, due to the RELENTLESS tells demanding gil and items and my reasoning for doing so was POLITELY explained to both Tibian and a friend whom Tibian felt neccesary to invlove
( On a side noth regarding the occurance between Tibians friend and myself, Tibian account is not anywhere near the truth, as can be seen here in confirmation by the very individual i spoke to on that day -

I do not think it realistic for me to stop exping and stop playing the game for an unknown length of time to devote all my efforts all day everyday to making back gil that was given to me in the first place. But being that Tibian WAS a friend, I no problem doing what i could to get him his things back, given a REALISTIC amount of time, that being MORE THAN A DAY.


6) I can understand Tibians impatience, however, I think through those few days I was particularly accepting in putting myself out to accomodate a friend. My patience and understanding was met with nothing but hostlility and impatience, and my motivation to get gil back to Tibian in a timely manner started to drift by the wayside when I was called a liar, a thief, and slander being shouted to anyone who would listen. Thats a funny way to get your things back. All I asked for was patience. If you feel the need to lower and debase yourself by starting a slander campaign against me, so be it.

7) i did in fact say to your friend, but that was only because that was his opening greeting to me when we first met. I may be in a crappy mood over this ordeal, but i can appreciate irony. I'm sure he will have no problem confirming that. :)

How dare you impugn my integrity with such childish remarks. I treat everyone in this game with respect unless they have done something to not deserve it, in which case i would simply ignore them.
Now, all that being said, I am still willing to return whatever rightfully belongs to Tibian to him, in a timely manner, but ONLY under SEVERAL conditions. First, I expect a public apology in-game for your outrageous banter, your accusations, and your personal attack on me. I also expect a re-cant and apology right here on alla. I expect a fair amount of time to get a substantial portion of these things back to you. This means more than a day or two. I'm sorry you joined HackRoses* when u had no equipment, but thats hardly my fault. LOL. * I AM only teasing, most of you guys are pretty cool. And lastly, I expect you to personally /tell each of the officers of NamidaNova, and explain to them what an impatient and petty person you have been, since your slander campaign has no doubt held up my application to NN.

Once you have met these conditions I will do what i can to set things right, not that I should feel any obligation to do ANYTHING to help you after the actions you've taken.

I've had a plastron for four months, Tibain quit like a week ago. What kind of warped time dimension do you live in?

Wow Jaded, I love how you try to make yourself out as the victim here. Don't expect anyone to buy that crap. You can try to say "woe is me" all you want, and try your hardest to make yourself out to not be such a bad guy after all, but the fact is, you are. Let's look at your defense here, addressing each one of your points.

1) So he exaggerated. What's your point? Stealing is stealing no matter how little or how much. And whether he stated that number out of faulty memory or who knows what, the fact remains that you were given that much gil to hold onto, as he said, in case he did come back.

2) Oh, good, you made the first step to admitting guilt. That's a good first step! But claiming that you did this because Tibian quit...well...he didn't quit if he came back 3 days later, did he? You sure did give him a lot of lee way time to come back before you sold everything he trusted you with huh? I hope you're proud of yourself.

3) I like how you threw in the phrase "Of course, I didn't have." Of course you didn't have it. Why? Because you're greedy, not frugal by any means, and can't keep your word. Sounds about right to me.

4) Yeah, he should have to wait a few days, because, you know, good friends have patience for another and keep their word and all, instead of turning around and doing things for their own selfish reasons.

5) Yes, it should be very realistic for you to spend days farming and doing what it takes to get him back his gil/items instead of exping when he trusted you with that to hold onto. And what did you do? You said "Sure, I'll hold onto that for you." and blatantly lied. Good going. I hope you go to Hell for that, and if you don't believe in Hell, you'd better start, because you're going to start living in it once your reputation is utterly ruined.

6) All I heard from that was "Wah, wah, woe is me!" again. Once again, you make a feeble attempt at portraying yourself as the victim here. I don't see how many people you expect to buy it. And the name-calling thing? Well, I would say that name-calling is immature, but not when the names you were called were actual accurate portrayals of who you are.

7) This one just takes the cake. You say that he was acting childish and "impugn[ed] [your] integrity." That's the biggest load of crap that I've ever heard. I'm sorry, but you sullied your own integrity. Don't bother pointing the finger back at him, because in case your mommy hasn't told you already, you have three fingers pointing back at you. The fact that you have the audacity to have conditions met in order for you to return the gil to him is ludicrous. You should be tarred, feathered, and ostracized from the FFXI community for even thinking that he do anything publicly in order to get his gil back.

And honestly, I find your entire post ironic. You're calling him the very names that you personify yourself. Get a grip on reality.

Tibian sent me a tell sometime last week asking if Jaded pre-paid ManaR 75Mil for W. Abjuration, which we never received.

So the question is:

1. Did you or didn't you "say", you "PRE-PAID" 75Mil to get W. Abjuration. When in fact you didn't.
If you have so much integrity in you, why did you lie?

2. If in fact you were going to try and sell items to give Tibian back his gil, couldn't you offer to give him items in equal value for him to bazaar?

Ok also I thought i would mention this. I was gone for ONE day(not even a full one). I gave you all of my stuff that night, woke up around 12, sat around, and logged on again at about 6. You mention in the screenshot talking to my friend that it takes time to get money back by selling stuff on the AH and in bazaar's, but what I want to know is how did ALL of my items sell OVERNIGHT? It obviously wasn't very hard to sell all of my stuff, so please just do it again and return my gil.

I tried to work it out with you on AIM, before I decided to post here, but after me saying "let's just work it out" i got instantly blocked.

Ok kids. First off, Jaded is not this "Two-Bit" slimeball that tibian is making him out to be.

I completely agree with Jedite on this, any person that decides to hand you all their posessions and say they're quitting, clearly plans on it. If they don't actually plan to quit, or have second thoughts, then they shouldn't have traded in the first place.

That being said, I understand where tibian is coming from however in this case Jaded really can't be blamed for Tibian making quick decisions without thinking them thru.

I hope the two of you resolve your problems, but meh. Good luck~

I've quit this game more times than I can count, and give away my stuff everytime. Here's a list of people that you can give your items, if you want too, and they will return them evertyime with nothing missing, and no arguments. Orpheous, Pupil, Jackle, Onslot, Jerryrobbins, Draigon, Faithless. I have given these people well over 20,000,000 worth of items or gil and everytime they returned it no questions asked. I suppose it's possible that these are the only 7 people on the whole server that are this way, but that is highly unlikely. Anyways, I saw an opportunity here to thank those people for never "stealing" my stuff. And guys, eventually all that "crap" will be yours, just hang in there.

My opinion is that Jaded has proven himself an untrustworthy person.

I hope I don't regret replying on this thread, with all the hostility here, but anyways:







If someone asks you to hold onto something in case they don't return, I do not believe that means: Go put it in the AH now and spend the Gil.

At least give the guy some time to decide if he will come back or not.

It's forward thinking to do an action like this, give away your stuff to a friend, in the event that you don't come back. That way it isn't lost on your character for ever. But it's not very 'honest' if this friend promises to hold it for you, then runs off to sell and spend the gil.

Not sure if this would quality as 'theft' or such, but it definately is dishonest.

I've had people who were leaving the game, give me stuff. I'd argue to try to get them to stay, but if they were persistent in leaving, I would take the stuff and promise to return it when they come back (hoping that they will). And to this day, I've never sold any of that stuff. Despite the fact that I would need gil. And when some of them come back, I am glad to give them the item back (the fact that a friend returns to the game, is worth way more then any gil I could get for all the items in Vana'diel). Even when they don't want it back, I still hold on to it for them :)

To the OP, you will simply have to accept the fact that you have run into someone who is less then honest in their promises to you. Hopefully in the future, if you have to do something similiar, you will do it with someone who can be more trusted and honest.

As far as I can tell you didn't, but since I was NOT there, and I am neither you nor jaded, I have no way of knowing what was truely said. Yes, screenshots can be edited, memories erased, etc etc. But seeing as how this argument is entirely beetween you and Jaded, I don't see how posting on Alla will fix anything. If anything all you're trying to do is stir up more drama on an already vastly over-dramatic board.

People post too many personal arguments on here and expect the entire server to chime in and give their 2 cents. But in reality, you're doing nothing more than stirring up trouble, and the sad thing is, you know it.

ok you know what i rethought it and won't even resort to personal attacks on a public forum with someone like Airshort. Everyone in this game who matters to me knows I would never, have never and will never buy gil and that's all that matters to me.

In fact my subligar losses put me in such a hole I am currently selling my Manteel so that I can level another job. It's on the AH as I type this. I've been playing since day 1 of PC release and never quit and my longest hiatus was two weeks. The two people who have access to my account who are certainly more reputable sources than Airshort know I've never had an odd influx of gil. So I'll just leave it at that because I know that all those of you who's respect does matter to me know alot better.

All i no is that even tho i am relativaly new...Tibian has been good to me. He has helped me with gil and quests. He has never seemed selfish to me and I believe him completily ;) If you ever have this problem again...my mule is open for you bud.
