Hey Ghelsba Loggers!Follow

Just a guess, but these may be Gil farmers, I know a couple other servers have had this same type of problem (same people in Ghelsba all day everyday Logging, some rude, some not). But again this is just a guess.

Well, yeah, gil sellers is what I'm worried about. :/ If it gets to the point that a regular player has a hard time logging there, it would suck. Sure, there are other places, but Ghelsba is convenient.

I just started logging there about five days ago. I've noticed three people there all the time too. Here's my story real quick.

So, I go there trying to get a couple of Elm logs. A friend of mine says he will need 2 of them, and some other materials to craft me a power bow for mog safe quest.

So, I go to Ghelsba and begin looking for logging points. I find a few, but others beat me to them. No worries. They were quicker on the draw, so it's their spot.

I finally get a space before anyone else, but it was a race. I get an arrowwood log. Suddenly in my tell I see "Mea ni wa" (I think that was it) I sent a tell back "???" She repeated the same thing. I began asking in linkshell, and nobody knew what it meant. So, I kinda ignored it.

I get a few more log points, and again, I get the message. I kinda went with the assumption that it was her telling me off cause I took a tree in "her area" cause she stay around that one section and didn't move away from it. I sent tell with translator that said "I'm sorry. I don't understand" Soon after, I ran out of space and left. I had only gotten one elm log, and went to sell the rest.

As a side story, there was another guy there who was complaining about the three people that were there. Kept calling them japs and telling them to go to Bubu. I ignored him. He seemed upset that he couldn't get to a logging point, and so started taking it out on people. I was ok with his complaining until he said "God damned Japs. And you wonder why we dropped the bomb on you." I told him that was uncalled for. He didn't say anything else the rest of the time I was there.

Anyways, I went back the next day. Same three people there, along with the guy who was complaining about the others that were always there. I found that funny. This time, there were like 8 people logging. The night before, there were only the 5 of us. Now there would be 9. Made it hard to get logging points, but I got my fair share. No elms though. I met a very nice person who asked me what was wrong (I had /fume after still not getting any elm). I told her (forgot her name. Elvaan female) She gave me some logging tips. We kept hunting for our needs. I saw her craft an ash log. So, I offered her the ones I had so I could keep trying for elm. She took them gladly. Everytime I got logs, I would give them to her. She found an elm and gave it to me. I thanked her and went back to Sandy to send to my friend. I had 9 ash lumbers in my mog safe since May, so I sent them to the nice lady in Ghelsba. So, I don't feel bad about taking almost 5k from her.

The following day, I decided to level my woodworking. So, I went back to log. Same three people there again. I get to a log point, and I get that "Mae ni wa" tell again, but not from the same person as before. I ignore it complety this time. The person that sent me the tell a couple of days before was now shouting "If you have any ash logs you are gonna toss. I'll take them for 20 gil" Well, my woodworking skill is only 2. So, arrowwood and maple are all I can craft. I then decide to give away everything else (I've got plenty of money for now, and I'm not greedy) I get an ash, and send tell to person offering money for them. I tell her I'll give it to her for free. Trying to make friends with them all so they accept my presance better.

The next day, that lady didn't seem to speak english anymore. I sent her a tell, saying I have an ash log I'll give her for free, and get "???" as a response. I found another person who was willing to take the logs I couldn't use, so alls good. I had bought the field gloves, and was seeing how well they work on their own. I plan to buy each peice as I make money to pay for them with lumber. I now only go after I get wind crystals from leveling lower level jobs. I log and craft until I'm out of crystals, then go onto next task. Got my woodworking skill to 3, so that made me happy.

I'm really curious what they are telling me in the tells. It's been bugging me for the better part of a week now.

You damned loggers always running around! I gotta go around you guys to get to my fishing hole! :p

"mae ni wa" means roughly "over there" or "go away"
