Dear Siren players,

Recently, I have fallen under the attack of an account hijack. I have posted about it here with some questions: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10;mid=1239341982119917107;num=0;page=1. To make a long story short, I quit FFXI back in December of 2008. Well, a friend from XI told me today on MSN that I was logged on, and my characters were on the Siren server. I have *never* been on Siren (regretfully!). Thus, whoever stole my account reactivated my main for $12.95 (Caes), my other for $1.00 (Elle), and made a world transfer from Fairy to Siren for $25.00. Apparently it wasn't an RMT because all my gil, items, levels and so forth seem to be entirely intact.

In fact, whoever stole my account didn't even seem to so much as *move* my characters an inch despite going through the trouble of getting a world transfer. Plus they didn't even bother to change the POL password, which is how I logged in. I'm just worried the credit card on file, mine, is going to be charged for this stuff! I'm gonna call SE about it tomorrow. But pending that, I have a month back on this game, and I have no time to actually play.

I'm just thankful these resources (the gil and all) didn't end up in RMT hands. I have no intention to play FFXI again, though I miss it dearly. It was actually fun to mess around on my characters again.

So I'm passing the savings on to you! So to speak. Unless I can get SE to deactivate my account tomorrow in an effort to avoid the charges, I have this gil I will never use, and I hate to have it go to waste. I clearly have no friends on Siren. I've only ever been on Phoenix, Shiva, Titan and Fairy.

So I'd like to get a raffle of sorts going to see who I should give the gil to! I don't think I have any really expensive, awesome items. I may post an inventory later to see if anyone would really want a particular item of value, but I'm prolly not going to clear out my inventory because it would be a nightmare sending it all to different people, making sure they receive it on time to clear my send box, and so forth.

I have to get to bed for work tomorrow. I have a long shift (9 hours), so I won't be able to check this thread until after 7 PM CST. If you want a chance to win, simply post your character's name in this thread. And no, don't post over and over with your different mules. One name per player please (or, at least, one name per Alla account, but don't even try to use new account socks to vote for one of your other characters). At the end I'll do a random drawing for the winner of the gil. I would prefer to hand it to you in-game myself (I have a 66 PLD with 37 WHM sub for Sneak/Invis.) This is obviously to check for any funny business. Here are all the rules:

RULES
1.) One character name per player and one character name per Allakhazam account.
2.) Allakhazam account with a decent post count.
3.) Please do *not* /tell me in-game to enter the raffle. I will not pay heed to your nomination via /tell.
4.) Obviously, Siren players only.

Again, I may list my inventory here later to see who would want what and do some drawings for that. I know I have a good bit of crystals lying around. The problem would be sending them to people and getting them out of my send box. as noted before. We'll see.

I shall be back tomorrow night sometime after 7 PM CST to check the thread. As of now, the date for the draw is TBA. I need to see what SE says about this account hijack and my CC charges tomorrow. It sucks to hear what happened to your account, but I would recommend not raffling off your gil. You should just leave it on your character in case you want to play again in the future. It's a nice thing to do (and a good excuse to finally break the tether from the game), but you may ultimately regret it.

Then again, it's only 600k.

Why not wait it out and transfer back to Fairy? There are more than enough linkshells filled with good people that I'm sure wouldn't mind housing a refugee for a while.

I never thought about that in all the times I've heard about account hacking...

If you order a Security Token they use the CC on file, if you download ACP they use the CC on file. If you even reactivate, they use the CC on file first...

Wait... no...

How long was your character inactive?

Whenever I signed on after months of inactivity, (which believe me, was many times) I always had to reenter all of my credit card information. So there may be hope yet...

More often than not people would find themselves on a new server with strangers, and just quit with their gil disappearing. You're a good person, and I'm sincerely sorry about your loss.

Pawke's just jealous he's not Siren and therefore, ineligible. I know, because he's a Canuck and all Canucks love free stuff.

Keep going Caes, maybe you will stay after all. Well, the human mind is such a powerful thing and can change its points of views after much analysis.

Hey everyone. Thanks again for the responses. I am going to go ahead and hold the drawing on Friday, April 17 sometime after 7 PM CST. I know that seems probably an odd time, but I work all this weekend. Still, I have some time between shifts on Saturday and Sunday to potentially meet up with you in-game to hand over the loot.

Oh, my bad XP The full name is Ellevyrette. Elle for short. But even with that said, I definitely haven't been on much at all. I did get her to level 12 though! Yay Aero! I think I'm gonna play a little more here and there, at least until I get my copy of Final Fantasy Dissidia. The wait is really killing me, and it's bad enough I'll have to deal with the Japanese menus and such. At least there's guides and youtube videos explaining everything.

It's not my character, but Terrifyingspeed should get the money, helps out alot and is a pretty cool guy for an old man.
