SilverGryphons is a new roleplaying shell that starts meeting around 9-10 est. We are freeform, so while we are working on a role-play campaign, you can also just hop on as you like to roleplay your character as you wish to. I may take a look at this. I've been wanting to try a shell like this for sometime.

I'm definitely going to look over the site. I'm probably going to have to alter Eli's profile a skoshe from the last shell we were in, and see how things are going to be handled differently here.

Either way I've been wanting to get back into it, and just when I went to check I see this thread. I'll lurk there for a few days and then throw up the old altered profile for review.

I just always enjoyed a small bit of RPing. Found it refreshing. Used to do it with an online WWE Federation that I had a lot of fun with until it just got boring to me and the guys I played with were total jerks.'

Maybe this will be better, since I already like Seph and Tailzz in SG it looks.

Seph's asking me to bring a lot of stuff from our other RP board over -- regarding a small plotline we have running right now. I'll do it this weekend when I have the time to cut and paste a bunch of stuff...

Yes, some of us split off from esper because of a few reasons, but it was a friendly split. If you would like more info on this, send me a message.

Yes, Esper split up. We've been picking up where we left our characters off in Esper, though some former members of Esper who've since joined SilverGryphons have decided to start over with a blank slate.

i think its set to use two different styles of confirmation messages. If you want to message me with a time youd want to register, i could set it up for you to bypass it. Unfortunately i can only set one of the two styles or disable it completely, and i dont know which one you'd find more readable.

or, if you are on siren send Darknei, Sepharix, or Mozyr a tell.

As for content, well, i wont say that we dont, but all of us are pretty mature players aside from the general bouts of goofiness now and then. Youll have to check us out and see if we are to your comfort level.

Fully understandable :) I can see why you're being picky with your choice of homes in the game. While I hope you'll join us, I also hope that you'll find the shell you're looking for! I know there's one out there.

Hi Darknei. I basically have no experience to speak of with roleplaying shells but this sounds like fun. I'd like to check it out if you're still handing out pearls. I tried to check out more information on the shell at the forumcircle site but I couldn't see any posts. Not sure if there just aren't any yet or if it's not working for me. Anyway I'll try and look you up when I'm on the game to talk to you more in depth about the linkshell.

Every forumcircle website I have been a part of has been dynamis so you had to be accepted before signing up lol. Now that I know I'll set up an account.

We're still looking for new blood if anyone's interested. If you have any questions about what roleplaying is, post them here or send Darknei, me, or Sepharix a /tell in game. If you already know what roleplaying is and want to actually start using it in the FFXI-verse (since it is an MMORPG, after all), let us know.

You don't have to post a character bio or anything like that -- we're not making it a requirement. If you want to write one, great, if not, that's also fine. Just ask one of us for a pearl and go join the forum that's linked to in my signature.

There have to be some people out there who are interested in roleplaying. come join us! Even if you're unfamiliar with what it is, we can always explain it. We're pretty patient with beginners.

Esper kind of fell apart -- but we don't really pay much attention to the history of Vana'diel. Most of the stuff that we do sort of revolves around our characters and how they fit into Vana'diel, but that's about it. Trust me -- none of us are scholars on the history of Vana'diel in the shell, and most of what we do come up with is completely not canon -- but it's still fun. :)

S/E hasn't really given us much of a history to deal with when it comes to Vana'diel, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out when WotG comes out in two months. For the time being, however, we seem to be practicing revisionist history, as it were. XD

I invited two more people to the shell last night -- they were camping Mee Deggi with me and seemed interested in RP. So the three of us were on there last night while waiting for him to pop.

1) Easier to illustrate. One of our storylines involved several disgruntled members of the hydra corp in dynamis coming out to try and seal it off from vana'diel because they were tired of player incursions into that realm. Thats the plot line, and characters in the linkshell reacted to it in many ways. (mostly fleeing at first XD)

2) oh, that means we can start afresh as characters. Our characters in Esper had a lot of history together and a lot of story built up, and when we started the Gryphons people could alter their characters and rebuild histories if they wanted to.

3) Mostly to get together and roleplay..act out our characters. Sometimes we do ingame events in character, sometimes its a chat session

4) no, mostly because most people in vanadiel don't talk like that. The way you show character when writing isn't often by dialect, but by how they choose words. Like in real life..some people talk a mile a minute, some don't say much at all. Some people use big words, some don't.

Yes, Eli's the only one with a noticeable accent on the shell, I think. We don't speak in old English or whatever. Come to think of it, I don't think we've ever done that in any of the RPGs I've ever been in, including D&D and Earthdawn.

As long as you're not spraying something else, I don't care. :D

I need to go write the next chapter of Silver Gryphons: The High School Years when I get home and finish watching my No Country For Old Men CD. Man, it's really nice to have friends in the Screen Actor's Guild who get these things early and give them to me.
