Dedicated CoP LS forming...Follow

Hello!

I'm in the process of assembling a linkshell dedicated to completing CoP missions. We'll be starting with the Promyvions and moving on from there as everyone's preparedness and schedules allow. If there are any people on the server who would like to join, please keep in mind the following expectations:

1) You must be willing to invest the necessary time/gil into ensuring you are prepared. For example, for the Promyvion events, anyone wishing to take part must have a full set of Animas and a reasonable supply of medicines for personal use. Events leading up to the main Promyvion events will include Recollection gathering, and I am prepared to help offset the cost of medicines by synthing what I can for the group, provided they assist me in coming up with the ingredients.

2) You must be willing to invest at least SOME time doing events with the group even if it means putting off leveling, etc. from time to time. The success of the group will depend greatly on its ability to work together. Having animas and medicines is a fantastic start, but having grouped with one another before for various different things will also be a significant benefit.

3) Maturity is key please. I'm not interested in a group of people pounding out the leetspeak and talking about their pimping skills. If that's your idea of fun, I won't criticise it, but it grates on my damn nerves ^^

4) You have to want to succeed. Nothing this group does will ever be half-assed. Thus the requirements for participation. Nobody should ever be asked to pick up anyone else's slack because they didn't feel like investing the time/gil/effort into being successful.

I have no intention of being a drill sargeant asshat about any of this, but I've been in one too many Promyvion groups with people who seemed hell bent on trusting to luck more than anything else that I kinda have to think I was with the wrong people. So now I'm looking for people who actually want to get these done and are willing to take steps to help ensure success.

I'm definitely down - seeing as Rapier never includes me in his Promyvion fun... I guess I have to go elsewhere.

you can count me in ive got all my stuff for that level, what time are you on though?

u only want to do the CoP missions or u want to do the quests on it too? an extra source of beastmans seals would be great

Well crud, it'd be something I'd join Aur but hell if I could find what little time I do for myself already :( Work shifts are random and suck mighty big ones.

Not to speak for Aurelius but I know he finally got Dem finished and had an unsuccessful run with a clueless Mea party. I really, really want to help him out with this because I know how furstrating it can be when People do Promyion's half-assed.

I would definitely like to join this. I love my current LS, but I can't seem to get too many members interested in doing any CoP stuff which I really want to do. Please send me /tell if you want a 50 WHM (on mostly evenings and weekends) or a PM/email. If I get a pearl, I'd start farming anima's immediately since I have no other priorities since completing Limit 1.

hey aurelias, i dont have CoP yet, and my credit card maxed out >< no ffxi. But luckily, payday is wedsneday :D so i can get FFXI back online, and buy CoP. Is there a level cap, i swore i heard something about it, if so i could farm for the proper leveld gear, and i should be good to go by the weekend.

You really only need an alliance for the graveyard part of Holla and if you plan on taking out the NM's in any Promy, other than that, it is more of a hinderence than a help since they tend to stretch wayyyy out and get aggro.
What I want to try is to "cheat" the Memory Recepticals. Which is take a Alliance up to one, kill all the strays first (why people don't do this before engaging the Receptical is beyond me) then Break the alliance into 2 parties. One engages the Receptical and immeditaly calls for help. The sole purpose the the receptical is to open the gate to the next level and, if you have ever messed around inside Promy, you know the mobs "adjust" difficulty for Alliances (as in they are harder if you have an alliance formed). Doing this should set the difficulty at 1 party strength and allow the two parties to take it down hella quick.

Yea, with stray strength coming down with the last update I'm thinking the "perfect" set-up would be:
PLD/WAR RNG/NIN RNG/NIN RNG/NIN SMN/WHM WHM/BLM

Two RNG's focus on the Receptical and one is designated to pick off strays along with the PLD.

For the bosses, Astral Flow, 3 EES's followed by an Invinisible (to take hate back off the RNGs) should take down them down. Also, RNGs should hold a Terroranima to take aggro off if they get it in the fight. PLD can cure awake the Mages in case of sleep-ga.

im a 62RDM and most interested in doing storyline missions for the duration of my ff career. Ive tried Promvyions several times, but find the time to set it up and do it to be the biggest hinderance. Trying to make a pickup party seems to alwayss fail,. as a key member either has no anima, no skill, or hasnt done the cuscenes etc. If you want to get serious about it, i am totally down. I have rdm and blm at 30+ and 2 animas atm...

I got 7 expressly for this purpose.

I don't foresee any "spur of the moment" LS events happening. Any LS events that take place will be announced as far in advance as possible. If we throw together a Recollection hunting group at the drop of a hat and you're busy, that's not going to be a problem. But if you are on at 5pm, know we are getting together for a Promy run at 6pm, and still choose to join an exp group, that's your decision to make. Whether or not it reflects negatively on you would depend on the situation.

In addition to wanting to ensure that anyone/everyone planning to join for Promyvion BCNM fights (and later CoP mission fights) is prepared with the necessary items/medicine, I also want to take steps to ensure that people aren't taking advantage of the LS to do what they need to get done, and to hell with the rest of the group.

I've already done Promyvion-Dem, and a number of poeple in the LS have already completed other Promyvion BCNMs. That won't stop me from returning to Dem to help others, just as (as you mentioned), the fact that you've completed Holla won't necessarily stop you from joining a Holla BCNM group.

I'm looking to raise the bar with this LS, plain and simple. I'm hoping to attract people with goals, as well as an intention to function as part of a team. Those who fall outside of these expectations will not last long in the LS.

As far as other missions, at this time I have no plans to include things outside of CoP, that's not to say it won't be a feature later on. It depends on the group and what they want to accomplish. Personally, I have goals outside of CoP Missions that I'd like to attend to, but at this time I'd like to stay focussed on the Promyvions and beyond, simply because they are so demanding of everyone involved.
