Hello all. I'm an old FFXI Vet from like 6-7 years ago. I recently started playing again. I made a toon on this server specifically for the Emerald Knights as they were kind enough to respond to my first post on the general forums asking for a home to go to. Now I appreciate everything that I have gotten from these people, website to look at, ppl to ask a few questions to. However right now where I am trying to relearn the ropes of the game and get back in the swing of things I probably should find a LS that is more beginner orientated. Basically I need someone to hold my hand for a little bit :) because i'm clueless and completely lost and trying to figure things out as I go but let's face it, mindlessly jumping into xp parties in Gusgen Mines isn't really going to teach me anything. If there's a LS that is willing to teach someone all things FFXI that'd be great. You can catch me on the forums or my toon's name is Sertious. Thank you for all future reponses.

Sorry to say, but the way this game is played now is mind-numingly easy compared to years ago. The challenges now, are really completing your character overall.
If we have missed the mark somehow, I'd like to know where we can improve. We have plenty of people in the linkshell that is quite knowledgable of the game for those that want knowledge. But if you notice in my previous post when we first met, I never said you would be hand-held and lead by the nose in person. I figure that anyone with internet access can get information from allakhazam here, or wikipedia for ffxi, or the other ffxi info related sites can educate themselves with what they want to do in-game.
Case in point, we're here to help accomplish each other's goals. I know you're returning to the game and so are a lot of others in this linkshell, but the ffxi elementary parts of the game can be done on-the-fly. This game is different. People dont party in what was considered "parties" like 2 years ago. Instead we do Fields of Valor until we're ready to go to Gusgen, where we do Grounds of Valor. After this, we go somewhere else and do the same.. Then after all of this and you have defeated maat, then can start attending abyssea. I don't recommend going to abyssea until you are able to get a party as a non-keyer until you can build up cruor for Forbidden Keys.
Anyway, back to about what you posted. As far as relearning things.. you are being non-specific, and we cannot help when you are non-specific. This isn't a fair representation of me or the EmeraldKnights.

Well been a while since i checked these forums. Thanks for a reply Mokatu. I was not intending to misrepresent the EmeraldKnights or seem like you guys werent a good LS. I was highly intimidated by the game returning to it. I did feel like I needed a little extra hand holding, but as my last week has come into play i've learned a lot through the use of Wiki and other sites. Still feel like I have a lot to learn but its slowly coming together. I have not been on the LS in a number of days mainly due to the fact I linked up with an old HS friend of mine that still plays so I went over to his server, but I did want to come on here anyways and say I really do appreciate you being one of my first interactions in the return of this glorious game and for opening your LS doors to me and welcoming me. Thank you and I bid you all good luck in your adventures.
