A year ago I was saying goodbye to the Shiva server, and ending my long....LONG career of tormenting the Shiva server. I was heading up-and-up at work, but missing that someone special by my side to share it with. I was dead sexy, an avid Star Trek nerd, and I drove a Camry.
This year I'm still dead sexy (even though I now drive an Altima), and not a day goes by where I don't think about my friends on Shiva. I finally met the girl of my dreams, and we're planning on getting married next year. Oh...and I have a DVR this year, so you bet your sweet *** I record every episode of Star Trek I can find!!
The New Year brings many things, the least of which is a chance for reflection. I hope as you reflect back on 2009 you find that you are better off than the year before. If not, the new year will hold chance for you to do it all again. Just remember the one thing that FFXI teaches you: with friends, time, and determination, anything is possible.
That, and no matter how many times you MPK the RMT, it's still just as funny as the first time you did it.

A year ago I was thinking about quitting. But I had a change of heart and restarted Ichiban.
My move from ohio to Florida went bad but I managed to recover and salvage it. I once again am happy and think I did the right thing.

A year ago at this time, I was just beginning to catch my breath after dealing with several traumatic events in my life that just happened (like life does) to take place all at the same time! Sometimes; the worst things can bring out the best; the things we lose bring us closer on the path to find better things. During troubled times sometimes we just can't see it.
I have a new life now; someone new to share it with and couldn't be happier. Like Sophus; I don't play anymore; but one thing that will never be forgotten is the friends made, and who remain friends from this virtual reality world we all have played, or play in.
I wish all of you THE best of New Years; many great accomplishments in and out of game. Miss you all!

and P.S. ... the ONLY reason Sophus left was cause he took off with my Pirate Hat!

I can't believe its been about a year now since FU closed its doors and transitioned into Ichiban.
As sad as it was, I'm glad that we are still thriving.
Lets see.. Last year at this time, I was still trying to sort things out after a job loss 2-3 months prior. /em grumbles about a large computer company that "rhymes with 'smell'".
In the time since, I've been doing freelance work fixing PC's and tutoring older returning college students. My first student to tutor managed to turn her failing grade into a passing, high C grade.
I've also managed to finish my Bachelor's Degree in Game Design @ ITT Tech, and now am waiting to see if I can get an internship with CCP(EVE Online)/White Wolf on their new MMORPG project. I hear it involves werewolves and vampires...hmmm.

Um... a year ago I had just moved my family into my "fixer-upper" and had grand plans as to what I was going to do....Now, I am still fixing the house, quite a bit more poor than when I started, but happy still^^
