guy did a pickup nyzul isle group. trotter boots appraised from ??? boots. He systematically kicked everyone else from the pt so the boots would drop to him. He then proceeded to log to a mule and hide.

In his defense he said askar was the only thing freelot. But if you are like the rest of us when u say askar lot only, we tend to think everything else is free lot.

He deserves no defense. His shout simply showed "Askar[O] Denali & Goliard [X]" that's it. Appraisals never have and never should be assumed to be the sole right of the person doing the lotting. That is just... dumb.

As far as I know, he is not. The GM Policy does not covering thieving jerks. Anyway, he's supposedly "quitting" but I doubt that if he is selling all his gear for so much. Odds are he's server jumping or buying a new character.

I can see both sides of it to be honest.
His rules were a bit much and I personally wouldn't do a pick-up party under those conditions. Having said that, It is much like how most shells run dynamis, if you don't sponsor the run you get to pick 1 maybe 2 peices of gear that you want. If it drops you get to lot, but thats it...you don't get to lot anything else cause you are investing nothing but your free time.
In this situation, the sponsor is investing not only his free time, but the cost involved in coins and the time/tags of farming those coins. You can not expect to get an even share of the loot if you are mooching off of his coins in a pick up nyzule pt.
Thats what everyone who doesn't sponsor a dynamis/nyzule run is...a mooch. We take advantage of other peoples hard work for gear. As with dynamis sponsor's get more than just gear, they get coins and in some other shells all sellable drops/exp scrolls.

I call BS. When does a nyzul isle shout only pertain to the hnm gear? You know damn well ???items have never been off limits. They have always been lotable after being appraised. His rules was way to "loose" and made himself look bad.

Perfect example of someone assuming that every person who host's a nyzule run makes the same rules. This paticular person obviously had those rules. I don't fault him for having those rules as it was his coins that gave everyone else a chance to get the Askar gear they wanted and he has the right to set whatever rules he wants. At the same time I wouldn't do a pick up run with him cause his rules are too strict for my taste.

When you see "Askar O Denali/Goliard X" on a shout... what do you assume? Stop trying to defend someone who is obviously guilty, they DO NOT have a side. If he intended appraisals to be off limits he would have stated such in his shouts and he would have found no need to boot everyone and log before we even had a chance to lot or talk at all. If you can, even for a second, think what he did was justified... then there is something wrong there. He did in fact try to hide, but his alternate account was given away forcing him to swap back to Mds to "defend" himself.
Additionally, it makes perfect sense to sell your gear here (especially for relatively similar prices to the AH price). Logically, if you know people will look for you if you server hop, you will give them reason to halt the pursuit. IF you "quit" there is no reason to go looking for you. Furthermore, gearing up a single job helps lower suspicion when you hop servers and makes it easier to get into LSes that are looking for a specific job.

I try to make a habit of not assuming, as many a negative incident like this one arise from it. I would advise you to do the same. You could avoid similar situations in the future. I happen to think that those who sponsor runs(be it dynamis or nyzul) for others too mooch gear from deserve more loot then those who don't sponsor. If he feels the same and thinks he deserves all ??? items than thats his call as he is the sponsor. If you don't like it don't go with him. Plenty of other people who /sh for nyzul runs. You can mooch off them if you like thier rules better.

Go do 100 pick up runs and come back and tell me how many runs turn out like MDS run. Dynamis runs is different. Ppl that tend to sponser Dynamis is after the money and it clearly stats in almost every dynamis rules that sponser gets the money and others basically get to mooch off them for gear to help the sponser obtain whatever they are after.
You are right about asking questions. It doesnt hurt, but when you are customed to one way and not the other ppl tend to think the way they know.
Personaly I dont care what MDS did. I wasnt involved in it but all I ask from ppl like him is to be more clear on the rules.

I always ask, but in a round about non-hostle way. I always ask the leader of a pick up nyzule pt if they are going to collect all ??? items or if they would like me too.
That way regardless of thier response I know what they are planning to with the items, wether it be let the pt share or keep for themselves.
And yes I have done a few runs where the leader wants all ???items for themselves. Though it is uncommon, its non unheard of to me.

This is probably gonna add a little gas to the fire but Spcwill does in fact know Mds. They are brothers. Spcwill, known as Illwill in game, is the middle of 3 brothers with Mds being the youngest out of all 3.
You may ask how I know this? I'm the oldest brother. I used to be on this server but I transfered about 5 months ago.
The actions by Mds and Spcwill's defense of Mds doesn't surprise me in the least bit. I don't talk to either of them in game or RL anymore, and I'm sure these actions won't shock many or come as a surprise as to why.
Now time to sit back and wait for the flames and slander from Illwill or Mds.

Well first off, I knew this thread was going around on all the major ffxi websites and I could care less. I want to say for the record this is Mds. I wasn't going to make a big deal about this cause Xellith is a big drama queen. I wasn't even going to tell my side of the story cause only like 6 ppl think I'm a ninja lotter. The only reason why I'm talking now, cause I saw Cyanjoeblake comment and I laughed so hard. OK, here we go.
I was shouting in whitegate for a nyzul isle floor 100 run. I got 6 ppl and I said in PT chat (yeah you f*cking noob xellith don't deny it) that "Only Askar head was free lot, that everything else was mine". Everyone didn't object so I entered nyzul isle and we did the run. I was the only one who was picking up all the ??? Items from all the NM's etc.... and one of the people picked up a ??? Earring from a NM, and I send him a tell saying WTF!.
After the floor 100 run the person who picked up the ??? Earring told me personally that she would have em appraised. She did and I was appraising the Boots, and 2 ppl tried lotting on them. I said WTF pass on that sh*t. They didn't so I booted em. It had NOTHING to do w/ just disbanding the PT. Those two ppl who wouldn't pass on my items then started spamming stuff in /sh saying I ninja lotted em. I never hopped onto a different character. I only have Mds and Supertank, and Supertank doesn't have access to White Gate. Ibleedforkitty is Kittypwnsyou's second character.
I think you all are a bunch of babies who have sand in your ******. Quit your crying, read the rules of the sponser next time, and if you don't like those rules THE DON'T GO W/ HIM.

ohhh and since you look at this awwsnap (or asssssrape as others told me before I quit LOL) I previously told you to look up the lyrics to a Song, which I doubt you did. So i'll save you the trouble and I will cut and paste them. Maybe this time you'll listen to god or myself.

Hello Everyone & (/slap Duomaxwell)
Posting since I'm still popular lol (/woot).
Anyways, I left the game for two reason, first, being a shellholder is pretty tough but I thought that my time has come and I'm ready to move on to rl. (Someone gave me crack so I do play once in a while though). Second, the important thing was 2 of my family friends passed away while I was completely addicted to the game.There's not a day where I would give anything to turn back time. I would be lying if I said I didn't blame the linkshell, but in the end, I could only blame myself.But I still do love the HopefromAsh, otherwise if I didn't why would I pay for the website. :0

fyi: it's not like those other websites like free forum, mine is custom built and very proud of it. Though I need time to update it lol, but still is way better than some of the linkshell website.). Debating if I should build another one though, like a web for all linkshells such as accomplishment page. ^^
I have entrusted the ls to Popowich which I do believe he did a great job and major improvements, looking at the front page. Should check it out ^^.
Yes I heard about Rocklobster, so good luck and hopefully you guys do well.
Now getting back to the topic: Generally in my experience, ??? are shared by all.
