i am in shiva server and i was told by my friends and to make a charecter in every world. so i did so. and no matter where i look i can not get any help from somone. i just need somone to show me some tips or something u know to help me along the way. i am not asking for items or gills i am the kind of person who gets my own on my time. so just advice will be good thank you. and i still have a "?" over my head and no one else does why?
Oh wow. You don't need to create a character on every world. You are going to be charged $12.95 + $1 for every extra character you create. I think you can only have 16 total characters on one account anyway.
Just start with one character, and pick a server. If you start out on Shiva, there are some good linkshells that cater to newer players. One of them is FableUnity, and plenty of members there will be happy to show you around. If you want another server, I'm sure you'll find comparable people there.
The ? next to your name just shows that you are new. Every new character gets that until they either reach level 5 or have played the game for 5 hours. You can turn it off manually if you want by going to either the Config or Help menu. It will say "disable new adventurer status" or something like that.
If you haven't read the manual, I definitely recommend you start there. There's also a new player guide/videos on the official website, www.playonline.com that are supposed to be pretty good.

thanks u guys. yeah 15$ and some change is ok i created 3 charecter. one in each 3 staring areas. all differant races as well. to see how each one is. any reccomendation on a race and job i like blm in any game i play what would be a good race for that? and thanks for ya help again
Damn, Kramer, can't you ever give anyone the benefit of the doubt? The guy only has 2 total posts - so he didn't post in every server forum.
Any race can play any job, but Tarus seem to be particularly well suited to BLM because of their natural high MP and intelligence. The downside is they have low HP and die much more easily.
Hume and Mithra are pretty well rounded and make great BLMs too. Galka and Elvaan have some challenges with mage jobs at the earlier levels, but it can certainly be done. I've partied with some very good Galka and Elvaan BLMs before.
Of course, these days, BLMs tend to not get parties that easily after level 50 or so. If you want to be BLM, be prepared to solo. There is a lot of info in the BLM forum on here.

Sadly, BLMs also tend not to get very many invites to parties before level 20 either, I've noticed. What parties need in the dunes most is healers, and BLMs, especially with no subjob, aren't so good at healing as they are at nuking.
Ah, a sidenote. As a rdm and whm, my biggest complaint against new BLMs btw is, plesae don't nuke so much lol. You make it more difficult on the main healer if u're taking massive damage from nuking, cause then the main heal has to heal the melee and now you too, with limited mp.

Hey new one,
Listen, delete all those characters and just use 1 character.
With 1 character you can do like everything.
This isnt WoW, you dont need multiple characters for jobs, nations, missions, quests and stuff.
Every race starts with its own stats but its not a huge difference if you wear the right armor.
For more information and what jobs are mostly chosen per race visit the following links.

When you created your first character and named it its time to choose a nation.
This choise you also better keep in mind with wich job you start with.
Like if you start with White Mage and move to San d'Oria or Bastok you find out its a lot harder to get new spells than in Windurst.
Population of npcs in nations is like this:
San d'Oria: Elvaan, Hume
Bastok: Hume, Galka
Windurst Mithra, Tarutaru
If you discover later you dont like the nation of your choise you can always switch nation, myself dunno exactly how cause i never planned to switch it lol but you should just ask a random player or shout.
It surprised me that Fable Unity didnt replie yet but if you need a social shell, just ask around ingame or look on allakhazam.
Social Linkshells you see most advertises for lately are FableUnity, EchoDragon and Minimart.
Imo you should ask for a pearl from FableUnity and Minimart.
FableUnity's ldr is Sophus, just ask him for a pearl.
Minimart's ldr is Minkus but if you need a pearl, have sack from that shell so can give you one myself.
If you need any ingame help you can just "/tell Stormivan " (thats me) ingame.
I dont help ppl that ask for PL's and stuff,
helped a lot ppl with gil but also thx to that im broke myself now ">.>
Helping a lot ppl atm with nation tours and assistence to Valkurm Dunes and Lower Jeuno since so damn lot new ppl came ingame lately, its crazy.

I have a pretty good social linkshell going, with a mixture of newbies, midlevels (including myself) and high levels. I don't however advertise with shouts and neither do my leaders. I'm not at all fond of shouting for members, as I prefer to recruit using other, more reliable methods to find good members other than just handing out a pearl to any random person who wants one.
Anyhow, we're a good, helpful, drama-free ls, tho we still are fairly new. If anyone in interested in joining TheEmeraldSpiral tho, just send a /tell to myself aka Yukkari, or one of these leaders: Jadeterra, Onyko, Callista, Mirelle, or Inoradnam. Newbies, Mid-Levels, and High-Levels are welcomed equally. ^^
