For anyone that's been around a while, you know that me and alla have...history (I hate its guts, always have, and will one day burn it to the ground).

But aside from that, it's also the first online MMORPG message board I've ever posted on. And aside from the FableUnity boards, it's also the only FFXI-related board I've ever tortured with my presence since I started playing over 4 years ago. Not KI, not BEB, noting, nada, just Allakazahm.

...I know, sad isn't it?

And since that pretty much makes this my first home, I thought it only fitting that you guys be invited to FableUnity's latest event:

Who: The first 16 to show (FU members get first preference, but it is open to everyone)
What: An FU-Off with a prize of up to 100k gil
When: Saturday 7/12 at 1pm CST
Where: Whitegate
Why: Because tormenting Shiva is what we do best.
How: Do a better job of shaming your opponent

Additional Info:

In true FableUnity style (read: always late, but funny as hell), we will be hosting an event worthy of having the FU name.

From the linkshell with events such as "The Dunes Alliance," "Best Death Competition," and "The FU Anniversary Bake Sale"...the one who is known to build words with dead bodies in town...the one who turns people into fairies just to snap screenshots...and the only one who greets their members with a hearty FU!...

We bring you this year's FableUnity Anniversary Event, TheFU-Off

Here's how you play.

Sixteen individuals will gather in the middle of Aht Urhgan Whitegate. They will be paired off against each other in a "Yo Momma" style battle of epic proportions. Each gets three shots to put down the other, and winner will be determined by a panel of super-secret judges. The winner gets a shot at up to 100,000 gil!!!

As always, there are a few rules:

1) No joke can be used more than once. That means by you or anyone else.

This means two things. First, you should consider saving your best stuff for last. Second, be ready to change your strategy at a moment's notice. If someone else uses the line you looked up before you do...it can't be used by anyone else! Hopefully that means you'll come equipped with some original material ;)

2) At least one joke has to be FFXI-related.

3) At least one joke has to be "Yo Momma" related (and it can't be the FFXI joke)

4) You can work in teams, just remember to decide who gets what if you win.

You're trying not only to put down your opponent, you're trying to impress the judges. So the more people you have with you, the more options you'll have available!

5) Remember that we're here to have fun!

The judges will pick the winner of each round, the final two will face off for the shot at either a mystery item (value of at least 50k) or a /random shot at up to 100,000 gil.

For over three years, FableUnity has shown that your experience is what you make of it. And for the past three years, the people of Shiva have worked to make FableUnity one of the largest, oldest, best-known, and well-run linkshells the game has ever seen.

So to thank everyone for their (sometimes unwitting) part in FU, this event will be open to everyone whether or not they have an FU pearl. Just remember that FU members get first pick ;)

The event starts at 1pm CST in the middle of Whitegate. And yes, I did say in the middle of Whitegate. I will be there from about noon and will start putting the first 16 FU members into brackets. If there are any spots open at 12:45, I will start filling them with non-FU members. Once we have 16 (and our mystery judges) the battle begins!

I look forward to seeing you there! For more information--and updates--be sure to visit us at http://www.fableunity.com .

FU!

And when you're there...try to overlook the fact that I haven't updated the main page in like a year.

Oh believe me, I'm sure more than one GM will show to this event...at bare minimum to ban all of us for shouting obscenities and put-downs in whitegate. :D

Oh well, can't be any worse than when we turned everyone into girl scouts...

Secret judges?

the Grunty Intelligence Agency, or GIA, sees and knows all

(worst FFXI insult is: You get more ...... **this insult has been cut short due to the typist recieving a "couchland" in mid type**)

You should call a GM before the festivities begin and have them be the judge! Then he can send the winners to BAM-town.

Just a reminder that this is today! So anyone looking to make some money off of putting down their fellow Shivans (or if you just want a good laugh) then don't forget to show up on time!

A huuuuuge thank you to everyone who added to the madness by either participating or judging! I was surprised that not many non-FU members joined for a chance to take home 100k gil. In fact, most of them turned me down when they found out it wasn't a PvP fight Rolling Eyes

For anyone wondering how it went down...

On the first round, everyone got a chance to go against everyone else. It ended as a 3-way tie between Qualo, Levina/Lauren, and Krysta. For the second round, we shifted things up a bit and they got to put down yours truly. In the end, Krysta reigned victorious by a vote of 2-1 from the secret panel. As her prize she chose the gil, and managed to random a cool 41,600. Not bad for putting people down (and never leaving town)!

As we wrapped up, the entire town of Whitegate continued our efforts and exploded in a mass of Yo Momma, dead baby, and women jokes.

We are such a good influence on this server...

So thank you again for everyone's help and support on this event. Stay tuned as September is fast approaching. And for anyone who knows FU, you know exactly what that means...

Dangit! I can't believed I missed this event. ; ; Some RL sh*t bit me in the *** this weekend. Hopefully I can catch the next FU event. Grats to Krysta for the win. Shout out to my good friend Qualo for making the first round!
