Oh yeah except I can't log into my account. And it's a long weekend. And sitting here scanning and re-scanning my pc is boring.

No, noone else has my password, not even my husband. I obsessively change it, lol. Yes, I'm on a pc.
My gear's pretty crap and I'm broke, so we're all sitting here wondering wth you do when you nab someone's crappy account (vs. if I'd been rich and super awesome, y'know - serioulsy, I can provide proof of crappiness if someone sates my curiosity I'll sate yours lol).
ALSO my lsmates are confused how I have the shell on a diff server and they're still in a LS together w/no shellholder... I admit I'm also confused lol

So I've been obsessively scanning my pc with every piece of anti-virus and anti-spyware, etc software I could get my hands on because my registry search turned up hits on the files listed in the thread in =10. And.... then my husband pointed out that there were also entries for "pokemon" and "simcity ds" and a bunch of other stuff I've searched my HDD for. So, back to square one.

Last night while on ventrillo with the linkshell one of are members accounts were hacked. He recived a message saying you have logged on from a diffrent terminal. He told us through vent to watch his character to see if it would move zones. We all thought it was just lag and the character didnt log out after a dc. Untill the character was in the whitegate zone, quickly followed by Jeuno. We followed his character "Nolocke" to the ah where the hacker took all his items he had up on the ah earlier. The character then logged off. I called a gm and they said that yes the account was hacked and that he must use the roll back feature and contact them right away. But since it was the weekend the hacker has untill monday to get what they can and cover their tracks.
my suggestions call a gm, tell playonline.

Ugh okay phoning Playonline on the weekend doesn't work and they're not open til Tuesday, go holidays.

Arketa, I feel your pain. I couldn't log on to my account on sunday and finally got access again on Tuesday. As soon as I got on POL I had 3 messages from ls buddies askin "Did you change servers?" I logged on to FFXI to find my main plus all 3 mules had been moved to shiva and cleaned out of everything that wasn't rare/ex. So now I'm waiting on an email saying that they finished restoring my character.
To all you shiva-ites I'm afraid I won't be sticking around and I hope that those of you that bought my gear enjoy it. I had some pretty nice stuff like a kampf set, baron's set, etc.
Anyway, my visit to shiva wasn't fun and excitement but I don't blame you guys. Take care,

I've only heard of PC players being hacked. Has anyone heard of PS2/3 or Xbox users being hacked?
I would imagine that there was some kind of keylogging software that got your names and passwords. I would sure hate to think that these script kiddies have found some better methods.

I'm on PC, fyi, and I seem to be taking time off in shiva. I've also taken a load off... Whoever hacked me didn't take everything of value, but they did take Haub, 200-300k, potent belt, and woodsman.
Hopefully, i can get my account rolled back to back when it was still on titan, and possessed everything.............

There have been posts of ppl on 360/ps2-3 getting hacked but I think this last round was due to a exploit in a adobe flash player. I just wish SE would boost efforts to stop this crap.
Ppl should have the option to let themselves get logged off if someone tries to log onto you on a different ip. I think Aim is like this but not sure. Stop ppl from jumping servers by having a series of security questions u have to answer and 1 wrong one wont let u server hop.
There is just a bunch of small crap that SE could to that could deter the hackings.
