For those of you who know me as either Dreyalove or my old character name, Lonethief, you will know for sure that I am a huge ballista addict. I even moved over to Fenrir for a bit (where I met many wonderful people too) to get some more of my addiction. But of course I got home sick and eventually returned to Shiva. For a long time now there has been no english speaking ballista community for a long time now and the only way I ever got to participate in Ballista was to wake up early in the AM (sometimes as early as 6 AM for me) and do it with the JP.

Today that finally changed. Through shouting (I'm sure I annoyed many people with my shouts in Aht Urghan Whitegate and all of Jeuno) and searching out people I knew did ballista in the past, I ended up scrounging up 6 people to participate in a Jugnar Forest match. Amongst us was one person with no ballista experienced at all (Soulclaimer) who did exceptionally well for that being his first time. One JP ballista player showed up as well (Fino) it was a pretty close match ending in about a 10 point difference, I apologize about my horrid memory and can't remember the exact scores. Sadly, my team lost, but we had a helluva fun time there.

With this I would just like to point out that, the Shiva english speaking ballista community is on the rise. We may not be big yet but hopefully with posts like this one we will spark some interest in this server and get some bigger matches going on. Maybe we will become such a tight knit community that we can schedule weekly, monthly, maybe even daily, Diorama matches which will be practice for team vs team matches, which the ones held at Jugnar, Pashow, and Meri mountain are.

One thing I would like to point out, many people turn away from ballista because of a bad experienced they have ahd in Diorama. I very often hear phrases such as "Blu is just too good ballista is uneven" same going for rdm, or any job your personal job has a disadvatage against. NOw of course some jobs will be way better for a 1on1 match...but ballista isn't all about Diorama 1on1 e-peen flinging "haha i pwn j00!11!" fights. It's a team vs team which requires cooperation to win. A team consisting of a ton of theives, pups, and any other "lol job" will surely beat a team full of Rdm, Blu, and any other job people say have an advantage. How might they win? Pick off the jobs with weak defense as a team since the opponents will be working as one. Of course that is an exagerated scenario, but I think my point is very clear to see.

I would like to say this, tomorrow (Saturday) at around 6PM EST we will be participating in a 60 cap ballista. The first being in Jugnar Forest. Beginners and veterans to ballista are all welcome. Feel free to /tell me in game (dreyalove) with any questions. To participate you must have a ballista license which is an laughably easy quest started in your home nation. If I can find a link to the quest I will be sure to edit it in.

I would just like to emphasize that, I hope the "ballista community" as I seem to have named it, will grow in size and will be a group dedicated to enjoying, learning, and making intricate strategies to be used in a ballsita setting.

Besides, you never know when there may be another ballista royale.

Thought this link might help. If it isn't a clickable (is that a word?) link just copy and paste it into the url.
Of course, you could just search the wiki for information on your own since I am not very familiar with it myself...

This one will probably be more help then the first. It's...decent, but it gets the job done.
