I think more ppl need to listen to music while they play FFXI.
It makes you in a way a little happier when you play, besides I kinda blame PO for not allowing a plug-in :/ . I have a multimedia keyboard and can do it thru Windows Media Player <gag>. I know this is kind of a innocent subject, but FFXI is down atm, so what better thing to do than talk about MUSIC :)..

Um, I know of a few people that do this, I have playlists of sorts, but, there is a way to change the ingame music, go to
it explains how to change the ingame music, it is not illegal or against the Terms of Agreement as far as I know. But it allows you to have music you want playing to play, and have it change when you want, this week, I'm on my Metallica playlist, I have about 4 different ones that I change every week. Every once in a while I'll even go back to the normal music.

My brother Astraeus actually changed his battle musics to some songs from Unreal Tournament 2004. :D

i shut off the lame musics of the game ages ago... i always listen winamp on the back. whenever i do some quests or enter to a new area, i put the music back on.. for a short duration :)
I'm stuck in some godawful 1 hour update right now. So, I shall talk about music too.
I listen to the game music. Yes, I know this is odd, but I do it. I wish they had music in all the areas. Playing a mage in some of the dungeons is really boring cause we never get to hear battle music. My BST is in Altepa at the moment and that is nice music to listen to, plus I get battle music from time to time too.
Some rare occasions I turn on Winamp and put all my music files into it. Then I turn on the game, turn off the music, and just let Winamp shuffle music around. I have about a thousand MP3s so I'm always listening to something new.
