BCNm 40 is a real tricky one, but its worth it. Now when we do this and get the drops, this is not for keeping the items, we're hawking off the items off the AH for gil. So the ideal pt would be Drk, Pld, Rng, Rdm, Whm, and of course, Brd. If anyone is interested post here, Im a 40Drk/War atm.
once i hit 40 as a summoner could i act as the whm? :/

My paladin just dinged 40 and i'm currently updating my gear. I would be totally up for BCNM 40. I'll keep checking this thread for more info and you can send me a tell if you want. My character's name is Calais.

Im a 61rng but im sure i could find level 40 or lower gear to go along if you got a good stong party.
The only thing i would want was Utsusemi Ni lol. We could do it 100 times and i would give away all my gil to the party if only for Ni :D.

I've done Giddeus BCNM40 both with and without a Paladin. I've concluded that a Paladin is not optimal, but is certainly not worthless. Having a dedicated tank that can hold hate makes things a lot easier on the mages. A Paladin also makes it much easier to pull the individual mandys off the Bard.
Really, I can't think of a single job that would be "bad" for BCNM. It's all about your strategy. Get a good bunch of people who know their jobs and work out a plan, and you'll actually find it difficult to lose.

I just hit 40 with my RDM and picked up a Star Orb. I'm running with full RSE and use BLM as my party sub. I'm rather anxious to try a BCNM40. Send Cael a /tell sometime.
while plds dont suck in bcnm i would prefer a monk tank for bcnm 40, monk can tank for this fight does mroe dmg then a pld and as a direct result kills the monster faster, likewise I am a thief so he had help with hate... but its just my take on things ^^

I like a set up with BRD, healer, healer, 3x RNG.
Just let them all tank together since the mobs are all onions, have a RNG use EES or run like hell to stop Flood.
I dunno, that's just my preferred way since the WAR, MNK, PLD, or DRK is already going to have trouble holding hate through 8? consecutive mobs.

I'm a level 55 PLD/WAR but I have a full set of level 40 gear just waiting for some BCNM.. give me an invite if any of you need a tank, I've been told I'm very good at holding hate.
I don't think THFs are wanted in BCNM40 that much but if there is a PLD then maybe I could be useful :D I have gear for lvl 40 so send me a /tell if you're interested... 41 THF/NIN

Well I just got to 40 with my bard this past weekend.
Ill do Bcmn40 with you if you want me.
I dont have Mary's Horn or Monsta Signa yet, but The next couple weeks i will be farming and for these items.
I play from 6pm akst to around 12am akst
