After reading about all the enhancements to the game since I last played (over two years ago!), I decided that it was time for me to come back and try again. Lost all my old POL login data so I have to start completly fresh(which I don't really mind.)....never got much farther than level 30 anyway when I tried to play years ago. I'm going to be searching for a linkshell to join soon. Here's some things I'm looking for, based on past experience.
When I played in the past, I always had the problem of never being able to get any help with nation missions or CoP missions. Most of the time it was a situation where other ls members were either too busy or just not up for getting lower level gear to be able to go and help. (I don't think the latter problem will exist anymore with this level sync function I've read about.) What I'd love to find is a ls whose members would be up to help with the missions (really looking forward to seeing them now that I have a MUCH better computer than what I had before.)
The other problem I had with past linkshells was that 90% of the time, I was either the only one from the ls logged in or one of a small number (less than 5) of people signed in, and this was during the weekend! I am a local truck driver outside of game in the Dallas area, and my normal routine has me able to play Monday and Thursday afternoon/evenings, most Friday evenings, Saturday morning/afternoons, and most Sundays (except when I play a live action role playing game.). I'd love to find a linkshell where there'd be people on during those times, especially to help me with missions!
At the present time, I'm currently working on Warrior and have gotten it to level 16. Havn't gotten into Valkurm Dunes yet, been leveling off of the Training Regiments...planning to move to the Dunes tomarrow afternoon (and pending me being able to get to Selbina, will get the Subjob quest started). I currently have the main expansions (CoP, ToAU, and WotG). Have not gotten the other two that just got released recently and probably won't until I've at least gotten the main nation mission storyline done.)
I plan to be in game tomarrow afternoon/evening. Couldn't tell you what time I'd be signing in, as it depends on what deliveries I have. Normally, I'm able to log in around 3pm-ish Central Time, sometimes much sooner.

We're Cynosure, a social shell focused on getting done ... well, basically, the things you mentioned. (And, soon, we hope to do even more, like sky and Limbus/sea as a LS, although we won't compete with the HNMLSes.)
We have a large share of come-backers like you, plus a goodly number of true newbs. All are welcome. (Well, unless you're a jerk, but we haven't had that problem in ages.)
Helping the new folks along is our cadre of veterans, most of whom are in this shell because they like helping more than most.
