New Role Player's LS looking 4 membersFollow

#1 Aug 18 2009 at 3:49 PM Rating: Decent
Smiley: oyveySmiley: oyvey I've had a linkshell shell for over a year now, but never tried to recruit. Mainly because of most of the LSs I've found, are all catered to the Leader's wants, not the member's needs. My LS is not like either consept of LSs it's not Social blab about the world, and it's not Dynamisis(whatever) point counting fanatices. No my LS is for the average role player, wishing to explore this big wonderful game, They've made and do missions, quests, BCNMs, and even farming parties, or just expoler while doing a quest or mission. You role play your character as the race and city they came from, and with thier point of view.
I need sacks who would like to setup BCNM, garasons, asault, sync lvling pts, farming pts, skilling pts. It's called Ben's Party Elite for a reason, I'd like to train with 5 others or many others to enjoy skillchains with easy and not worry that you aren't lv75 yet in the job you'd like to learn more of playing in a party.
Truth be told, even after playing for 2 years, all I know of the game is what I managed to do, and what I've read on www.ffxiclopedia.org
I could use help in this game, and I still have 3 job quests, 2 just need keyitems, and I have no clue how to get anywhere in the past, barely got dnc37. Anyway if anyone wants to join my LS show me this game as if role playing it, because I like the game and if you read "Bendaire's Bazaar Comment" you'll see my 17 jobs and thier levels.
In game /sea all bendaire and /tell me you'd like to be a part of Ben's Party Elite LS, also if you'd like being a sack, "In my LS they can or not pick what six members might like to do that day" Smiley: smile if you'd like to join just to pass info on the game, and help that's fine too. Any job, race country, "Bastok prefered" grinSmiley: cool is welcome, only rule is you role play your character and leave you home life there!

The only reason I did make my LS, is because more than 15 LSs have left me hanging I'd help them get something, then one of the members started wierd bull with me, cause me to drop the pearl, or get kicked out. I don't care how the jobs work at lv.75 until I have a job at lv75. I'm also not becoming a point fanatic and have to move as fast as possible to a new more dangerous area without preparing of even knowing if half the party members even know how to get there. I'd love to play a lv75 job, but no one seem to want to help me get anyone of my 17 jobs beyond my war58/drg45/sam41/whm+nin40/dnc+blm+thf37/mnk36 only jobs I have over 30 with pld25/smn20 the rest are 19- in various stages to brd17 being my lowest. I would like to complete cor/pup quests, only need key items, but I have no clue where anything really is in this game, beyond the areas around the 4 main cities. I wish someone wanted to PLAY this game with me and not think I care if they are better at it then me. Everyone's better at this game then me, 2 years 3 months playing almost daily and still war58 is my highest and I just had another LS help me, but still making me help someone else, to get past G3. I've helped ppl for no reason, yet any time I ask for help, I have to pay for the help. I soloed war to 50 and am soon to do the same with drg, if anyone wants to PLAY, ask to join my LS, or invite me into 1 that will help me without making me do something first before I get the help.

Best wishes as you recruit for your LS. You may want to post in the stickied thread atop the Ragnarok Server forums, too!

hey

awesome idea, i use to do that with my old friends when we first started the game when it came out. it makes it a lot more fun. especially if u play the love hate game that elvanns had for other races, and how the mithra an taru always clung together etc. well im a vet of many jobs to 75 etc, ive solo'd duo;d and done a lil of everything. but right now im thinking of coming back in sept-oct tho ill be starting lvl 1 again, its never been that big of aproblem for me to get started quickly. i havent decided on a server yet, tho garuda was my last home world, im keeping options open till i decide.

my only requirements are i can find some cool people to play with prior to chooseing a server. i like roleplaying so if ur idea takes off id consider joing ur ls/server.

well if u want email me FFXI_DJ@live.com with any questions comments or concerns, otherwise ill check back here. good luck to ya.

btw ask anything u need, mayb i can help u get directions to how to get it done, be it af mission etc.

I doubt this LS will get anywhere, this is my second time trying, but it seems I really don't know enough of this game to role play, and it looks like no one every did role play this now, to big, to long, to much to do game, that after lvling 17 jobs none of which are higher then my war58, I'm not sure I haven't wasted 159 days, 17 hours, 16 minutes and 40seconds of play time. I tried asking a mentor for help, but all they wanted to do was rush me into things I didn't need or want, not helping me with my play but using mentor to get themselves farther in the game. If anyone does want to show me this game without rushing the story, and maybe have some fun, rather then just killing the same mobs over and over just to lvl another job. then /tell bendaire otherwise I wont be looking for another MMO, because at 45(bday yesterday) I think I'm done playing video games. Elder Scrolls 3 was to big too.

well happy birthday man. sorry not many people wanna take the idea seriously. id help you if i was still in game, i use to do alot of that stuff alone, once my main group of friends quit. the game is long, thats no joke. and sadly not everyone has patience to help others, im guilty of that at times myself. but its kinda lame that not many people play the game for the fun factor, and role playing would be included in that in my opinion. there more interested in what can i get before the other guy, or how much gil i can get for something... its really to much like real life lmao, its sad. i remeber day 1 was nothing like it was when i left this last time, but between rmts, and people in general wanting to be the "best" what ever the hell that means, considering that 5 mins later something u just did got nerfed, or a million other people did it around the same time whether they care to admit it or not. well like i say i can help if u want, or ill try atleast just send me a message, u see my email on the earlier post. cant be in game to assist but i can give u some pointers mayb on things u might wanna do. i do suggest campaign as a alternative to partying if that gets old to you. theres ussually a ton of people there too. mayb thats a good place to look for some roleplayers. mayb put a message in ur bazzar advertiseing ur looking for a roleplayer group, ls, or friends, in game kinda thing. there are some out there tho im not familiar with ragnarok server as much as garuda and leviathian, and odin. Ill put it into perspective in my experience. Leviathian was my first server, and we had a decent reolplayers base at release. hell even a few years in it was still common with a few linkshells i had. odin, wasnt totally nonroleplayer, there was a core group that did it alot. one use to post a web page about there roleplay fantasys if u will. they might do amission then post it in a gramatical way on there site. the posters name was yuri or something. its been a while. as for garuda, id say not so many, tho i knew a married couple in 2 instances that did reverse role play lol. the hubby was the female, the wife was the male, and they were married in game in that instance. so that might be roleplaying at a basic level i suppose. anyway i wish you luck with whatever you do in game or out.

That an other great advice, has helped me in game play personally. I'll keep my LS and maybe someone will want to join. My main idea was for ppl to be able to setup skill, exp, quest, mission, BCNM, farming, and exploring parties in the game. I'm not sure it would be easy to role play any character from lv1-75 of any job, since you have to lvl sub jobs just to get your hoped for main job parties to gain level faster, since solo even with the new field manuals, is long and boring past lv50. I started on Ragnorok, but changed to Siris for 3 months of living hell and bordum, but when I came back to my home world as I felt, I did get some help, but I had to help before I got help. I'm just playing for fun now, if I party then fine, but I'm not sure I'll be seeking, since no matter my sub for war59, I'm using they want something else or I don't have it lvled enough to sub it. The main thing I need to learn, is how to shout for help with something I need and not get talked into doing something else, then never get what I needed. I have 1107 beastmen's seals, and have several jobs lv40+ and more 30+ that can do BCNM, some of which I'd like to do again, would love the thunder spirit pack. I'd also like to know more places to party and level. I need weapon skill, and would rather not sync below cap.
#8 Aug 23 2009 at 4:01 AM Rating: Decent
ic, well as far as weapon capping goes, i completely understand the need to not wanna pt sync under it, otherwise u cant hit squat at ur proper level when it goes up lol. one way around this is skillup partys. ussually people join up fairly easy for this. at lvl 59 u can get some one thats 75 preferably 2 unless there use to doing it the way i use to. i use to use my npc all the time, so it was capped out, as healer. helps alot, gave me haste, protect 4, cure 5 u name it. rest when she noted low mp and rock an roll. i was ussually on war bec they can use all weapons for the most part to a decent degree in some anyway. well u will need to check its been a while so i cant say exactly what level the crabs there cap at (kuftal), but i wanna say lvl 62-63 exp level - capp on weapon skill ups. ten go to the desert there on the back side of kuftal. the reason i say crabs in both instants is bec they have high def in most cases to the weapon at that level, they do low to moderate damage to 75's in ok gear, and they offer decent skillups. after u go to the desert behind kuftal, whats it called .... valley of sorrows? or either thats after the desert im talking about... either way i dont mean altep... go in kuftal and go to the other end an exit for crabs and pugs an raptors ... tho crabs are ur best bet, pugs aggro sight, there so watch it. sound aggro from crabs in kuftal, and the desert. raptors are sight aggro if i remeber right too. once ur done with the desert or kuftal, u can go to boyhoda tree and attack steel shells. again ull need more then one person unless ur fluent with npc and /whm set up tho ull still need to be 70+ bec we use to exp off these lol and they hit a hell of a lot harder. now if u had thf like mine was at 75 with alot of evasion gear, u could sub /nin an most likely never get hit, tho takes a while to kill crab lol.

so my advice is level in sync pt if u want, but try to start or join a skillup party based on ur weapons skill level. there are lots of sights to choose, some will suggest birds in aht ares, they work well to, good exp if ur all the right level but exp pts might be more frequent there so they may get annoyed lol. kuftal exp pts might be mad to, just go to a different camp ussually not many pts there at once like in aht. as for getting help, again campigna, besiged are great shout spots, but u ussually wanna shout prior to, or after so people dont complain. i hope this helps some atleast.

Vary much so thank you. I've only had a few times so far where I ended up PT leader, and did a pretty good run even got replacements and when I had to leave, had a replacement otw before passing to one of the replacements lol. So maybe I'll try making more sync pts, for much needed job lvl, plus skillup pts.

I guess I don't want to play Final Fantasy XI, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I can and have soloed most jobs, and the only time, it's truly nessisary to set up party like job combos, it is not needed for leveling. If you want to play FFXI in a way to give your game play new life, ask to Join, I've found that the normal as they say, is out dated. when it comes to just playing for fun, and role play, doing it like everyone else, isn't fun, it's boring and dull. Only time I play war59/mnk or /nin is when asked to pt when I ain't seeking at all. I'm a die hard war/whm and it's in no way like a PLD, for 1, my war/whm can not take the dmg as well as a PLD, but PLD is nothing without /war, I've never once seens a pld/dnc tanking in a party. I play this for fun and more, I can play all day 7 days a week if I wanted to, but this game doesn't let you solo missions, and it is long boring and hard to level solo after 50 on many jobs. I'd really like to know others wishing to party non-standard job combos, and practice, doing skill chains and magic bursts, because many BCNM's can be done rather easily with job combos, many others look down on.

hello again my friend. hopefully ur still checking for updated messages.

I feal exactly how you do with the whole partys must be set this way thing. atleast i think thats what ur refering to.

war/nin thf/nin whm/blm rdm/whm nin/war rng/thf etc. how if u dont have a specific setup people dont wanna party with ya? or dont wanna have fun... they prefer the save and only way method..... lol

i remeber when it first started. Omg people now days would have flipped..... i mean nin could sub thf, or rng, and they debuffed the mobs, they didnt tank... O.O what a concept lol. i remeber when thf/rng was viable as a puller, and no one complained when drk and drgs joind partys. of course this was before people fell into a one state of mind.... specific job setups or i dont wanna party with you.. hehe thats the reason i went solo alot actually. i got tired of the same party set up just different people day after day. not saying i dont like leveling i do, i get a natural high off it lol. but i always liked to experiment. i didnt mind pulling even as a partys whm for crying out loud. id do it an have fun with it. stoneskin > dia pulling was faster then most thf > shadow > bow or boomerrang pulls, and it kept the game interesting. heck i had reraise might as well be useful sometime, tho granted i know alot of people will flame this comment, i dont care its true. i use to pull with any job i played if no one wanted to id do it. drk > poison, drg >jump you name it. i like pulling mobs, i like odd setups. Now there are times i guess that some neutral setups work best, mayb against a mission boss a good pld/war for tanking, or even a nin/war .... if thats ur thing, so that we get it done the first time round, sure i can see that. bec alot of people leave if things take to long. but sometimes like bcnm, like ur saying hell odd mixes work better, and now u dont loose exp, so why not have some fun with them... i dont think u even loose exp on missions now... tho i cant remeber lol. but if im right then again theres no exscuse unless people are in a hurry of course.

well im running on a tangent, but i know how u feal. I believe i will return to the game late sept early oct afterall. probably on a ps3 since itll be the cheaper route with wireless connections and all. and i like socom... so might try confrontation lol. if ur still playing then mayb ill look u up. i havent decided on a server just yet, but i might have to drop in and say hi. i got afriend, im gonna try to bring with me to the game... hes never played but he has the roleplay in him. the guy loves whitewolf, and DnD and things like that like you cant believe. well if u get this message lets keep this post alive, mayb we will get some bites from other players. you might get lucky, otherwise mayb server swap... i know its not always 100% great idea material, but garuda turned out to be ahell of agood server for me the last time. tho u might wanna post in different servers first and get the feal for it. anywho feal free to email me at georgeandfloria@hotmail.com this goes for any roleplayers are anyone looking to find out more about a roleplaying linkshell/ingame play etc/

I put my LS into the LS community on playonline, but after seeing how far I haven't got in the game, I'm not sure if I'll keep playing the only MMORPG I ever considered trying, muchless play to a stand still over 2 years 3 months, and 7 days. I thought I had finished the minature fight, but my mission log says I still have to fight it. My NPC is almost 40 and I have the quest for the tactics pearl flagged, I think, or at least my Follower just asked for my help with the emptiness. I have no clue what more then half the FFxiClopedia.org says on missions and quests, and I've run the limit of my 2004 FFXI stratagy guide, and my 2004 FFXI Atlas is almost useless with all the monster and other changes. I might get my LS into doing CoP missions, actually I'd like to just play the game for the fun of the game and not compete at how fast I can press a button, or trying to see who is better at whatever job combo someone else might think is fun. I've played War59 with 9 subs now and find the sub only changes how I attack and how I might use Gaxe or Axe but then again no one cares about this game's story line, at least not on ragnarok. I just might take my main PC and it's 4 mules to another server after all, and $25 is small compared to the RMT for 1mil in game gold. And I don't like paying more for this game then needed. I'm not paying real money for someone's in game money ever again. It doesn't help in the long run.

ah yea, the minature fight, i remeber that thing. hes a beast lmao. took me.. well we wont go into details of how long to get help for it, but after that some of the missions were failry easy with 3-4 man groups.

As for the emptiness thats easy if u havent done it before. npc is lvl 40 which is very cool, the npc offers some decent quest imo that u can solo which is cool. fairly good story tied to it too. well to do the emptiness if u havent. go to the crag of holla its probably the easiest to get to. you know the shattered portal that takes u to the promy? u go in that one, walk around where u start behind the white pedestal thing an find the ??? ull get a cutscene with ur npc, then u and ur npc run around the main pond infront of where u start, mobs are true sight so try to run wide around them. ur looking for a second ??? its not far, its going to be around the pond (the black space if u will) as u run around head kinda NW i guess ud say. there will be 2-3 big mobs and a few of the small ones. u should see some white stones that look broken too, amongst them is the ??? if u can slide by keep in mind lvl 20cap zone, i believe it was, or 25. anyway best way to handle it. if u get aggro and its the small mobs kill them off to the side. if its the big one and ur in poor gear or just dont wanna figth it, attack it so ur npc hits it, then unlock auto target and turn around so the mob is only being hit by ur npc, the npc takes hate run to the ??? for cutscene and then let the npc warp u back out to the start, so u can leave. :D

As for changeing servers, u might wanna research it first. ive been lookin myself, but no one server seems to pop out alot. Tho if u have to change server to find a reason to play i can understand that. i did that a few times in my playing years.

Was so easy getting the tactics pearl, it wasn't funny, but I didn't kill many mobs in Promy Mea as the wiki suggests. Well I'm not worrying about my LS, if someone wants to join me playing this game just for the hell of it, not being up tight about how well you play any of the 20 jobs and the multitude of combinations, or how long it might take to enjoy a quest, ask me for a pearl, I won't seek you out. Have had enough supposed helpfull LSs, and no one's offered to help me get my war59 to 65, and 3 times I've done mission 5.1 after I'd done it, because the LS said they were going to help me with 5.2 and leveling, but I'm still war59 and rank 5, ain't helping another LS ***** me, by getting my help and never returing the favor.
#18 Sep 07 2009 at 3:42 AM Rating: Decent
best part about the tactics pearl is u can get a new one every sunday or conquest tally time. things to note if u dont already know.

u can use each tactics pearl pop one after the other with only 5mins cooldown time, if i remeber right. which makes it incredibly useful even if ur tryin to make good use of it just so u can get a new one lol. make sure to drop the old one before the quest tho, the npc will always give u a new one. tactics pearl. DONT drop ur signal pearl lol. congrats on the signal pearl. depending on what type u select for the npc they can be extremely useful.

i had mine capped out before i quit, haste cure v and protect 4 was awesome, and she had afair amount of mp enough for 4-5 cures and haste 1-2. i use to farm the gobbue in boyhoda tree with mine, on thf. thats something you dont see everyday lol. but it was loads of fun, decent gil too. tho i was lvl 75 with high evasion gear etc. dont recomend it below 70 alone, because they can hit pretty hard. anyway glad u got it.
