Well I just recently started playing, I'm a warrior level 18 so far and I really like the game (amazing community) but it seems like I need a party to level and there are VERY few people around. I'm not quite sure what I should do, I unlocked subclass with the help of an extremely friendly 75THF. Has everyone left this game? Is it too late to level up or is it still reasonably possible? Is this server underpopulated or is it normal? Also, what are some good ways of finding groups, or good locations? As you can tell I'm pretty much clueless about everything. Thanks to all who reply!

As someone who transferred servers in the last few days , I can assure you that the server population is pretty normal . In the next couple of weeks (sadly no confirmed date yet ) SE are introducing a Level Sync feature that should make it easier for you to find parties .

Explained in the simplest way i can, lets assume you and I are friends in game, but i'm a high level, and you're low level. Essentially, I'd be able to make myself a low level and exp with you . However, this system is probably more likely to benefit you if you find yourself a good group of friends or a good linkshell . If you have trouble finding a linkshell, I'm sure some of the good folks here can help you .

This update is probably one of the most talked about FFXI has seen in a long time, and I am sure it will benefit you to some extent . In the meantime, if invites are slow, concentrate on levelling up subs, farming, and questing, and on making food friends with your LS mates ^^

Honestly, being a low level is hard right now, but come the update, it should be an awful lot easier .

I had no idea there were implementing a system like that. Thanks so much for letting me know and I definitely will not give up at this point! I have a very helpful and friendly LS and will focus on grouping when I can until this syncing system is released. Thanks again!

Welcome to FFXI! it's a big ol' world and sometimes it's hard to digest. We veterans sometimes forget how much there is to learn in this game for newer players.

If you need help getting on your feet information-wise, look for me in-game (Grommet) or consider contacting someone who has their "Mentor" status activated. (You'd find Mentors by using Help Desk in the main menu, then Mentor Search.)

If you still need a helpful linkshell, I can suggest at least 3 (plus, you can look through the list of them that's a stickied topic in this forum). My main LS is Axiom (http://www.axiom-online.org), a medium-sized social-but-we-DO-THINGS-too shell with a nice mix of veterans and newer players.

Again, welcome!
